I found a Seibon CF hood for sale locally at a great price but the catch is torn out.
I'm highly considering buying it and picking up a set of hood pins.
What do you guys think?

In my opinion Seibon generally isnt very expensive new, so unless you're paying less than 3 digits I would just purchase something new, for piece of mind. But then again I'd run hood pins with the catch for piece of mind too.
I bought my cf hatch with the catch broken and had my shop fiberglass and rivet a new one on. Its been holding up fine for about 3 years now. Granted its the back of the car and doesn't catch as much wind I would still fix the catch and still get hood pins lol.

May I ask why you haven't already jumped on it?just curious.
150- i'd probably offer a little less just because.
Also, can anyone point me in the right direction of learning how to install hood pins? I really like the flush mount ones. I've never had hood pins before don't hate

Is it something that can be done with basic power tools?

went to pick up the hood today and it had a lot more damage than I could see in the pictures. Decided to walk away. Good deal for someone with access to body shop tools. Could be surface sanded and re clear-coated most likely but I didn't want to buy the project. I'll be taking the money I would've spent and ordering a Pop Charger tomorrow.
Thanks for the support everyone!

Yeah that mesh needs to be painted matte black or coated in plasti-dip (makes a nice rubber surface and will smooth over any sharp edges so not to cut you or tear up your detailing towels). Since it's going on a black car I don't think it will look too bad.
