New with some questions
I bought a red 350z about 2-3 months ago... it had a cheap lambo kit on it that wasnt installed properly and was total garbage. It was the weld on kind and was welded to my fender which got bent from the weight on the doors. The first week after I bought it, I took it to a shop near my house. This is the only shop in my area that even knew what lambo doors were. lol I originally just went to see if I could get the doors adjusted but after he went in, he said they needed replacing. He said he was going to charge me $2000 flat rate to tear off the old lambo door hinge that was welded on and to cut out where my fender was bent and steel plate it and redrill bolt holes that were covered in the weld and repaint the door jams. He said it would be another $300 for the stock hinges. so $2300 total for this whole thing... or I could buy a new lambo kit and he'd install that for the same flat rate. so thats what I did. I bought a bolt on kit from vertical doors for $1000. After getting into it, he said I would need to replace the doors completely.. and he would move the wiring and motors into the new doors.. while he had the fenders and sides removed I decided to just do a body kit as well while im at it... so I got the n-1 body kit and n-1 spoiler... he is also replacing the panels I had on it. I had carbon fiber panels that were beat up and I was going back stock and a door handle was being replaced. So my question is, is $2000 a good price for a lambo kit install, new doors install, door handle, and he's installing body kit for free since things are already off anyways? My total bill ran around $5500 after painting new doors, and body kit and all the parts.. this all just seemed alil steep in price to me... any opinions? thanks

Well he charged me $2000 for stripping the old hinges, steel plating and repainting fender, putting on the new doors, and installing the body kit.. The other costs were parts and paint. Lambo kit-$1000, New doors-$600, Body Kit-$700, $1000 for painting both doors and body kit.. does all this sound reasonable? or way too much?

Well for quality it's way to low....hence my previous post. Not that this guy gonna do shitty work. It's just from what I've seen a paint job alone cost 4-5 by itself. So hopefully he sticks to his word and what y'all agreed on. Hopefully he doesn't increase charges to the extra work that is needed to finish.

all show, no go. but I agree with KingBaby.. the price seems too low for the work being done so this makes me question the quality of work that the shop does. any pics of the "artwork" the previous owner did? seems a bit extreme that the doors need to be replaced as well.

No price is to high to take Lamborghini doors off a Z , no price is too low to even consider putting lambo doors on a Z.

That answers my question then. Quality was the last thing I was worried about. The guy does very very nice work. I was concerned he was charging me too much. The quality will be above average im sure. I've seen his work and the work of his painter. They do some amazing stuff. He has a 300zx TT and a NISMO 350z that are both show cars with barely any stock parts left on them that just sit in his shop and look pretty and he takes to shows lol he mostly only does Z's..

all show no go? It will go when im finished. I just got the car. I had to address things that were wrong first. like i said previously quality was not a concern... doors were bent around the edges of the fiberglass from the doors being slammed or something. decided it was safer just to get new ones.

Personally I like the lambos. The new lambo kit I bought opens both out all the way and up if I want. So if I don'f feel like using the lambo I dont have to.. but if I feel like it, its there to use. Hopefully one day I can make it into a show car... not a DD.. and I never asked what do you guys think of my lambos... I asked was that a fair price for all that work... this is not bash the lambos thread.. thanks
