AIT body kit install
I just bought the AIT spirit srs body kit and need some pointers on installing it. I'm aware i have to drill holes but i'm not sure about the side skirts where the clips would go, since there is no place for clips. would i use some sort of epoxy glue or something? And theres only a half rear bumper add-on should i fiberglass or bondo it to the rest of the bumper? it would help if anyone had pictures of installing a body kit. thanks in advance!
I think it may have been to your benefit had you done some research before buying this kit. These kit are meant to be cut/made to have a perfect fitment and professional install is recommended. You'll have to drill any holes needed yourself as most replica kits do not come with holes pre-drilled.
Sounds as though you may be over your head on thinking this is a easy DIY
project.First of all,in my experience,AIT body components need quite a bit of
work to fit well. Most skirts replace the OEM skirts.Yes,holes need drilling.
Proper fasteners need to be bought. Its quite possible that modifications
will need to be done on the parts to make them match up correctly.
Possibly you should have done more research before ordering a kit.
There are kits that have spot on fitment.Shine has excellent fitting parts.
Good luck.

i read reviews and watched some videos and saw some people were satisfied with the fitment. i just didn't see alot for a 350z kit for reviews.. I have been considering a very reputable body shop too, they're really fair on labor cost. Thanks for the replies. I appreciate the input.

Reverse... Voltex is a better design then this Esprit replica...
And the survey says: 1. Bring it to a body shop.
This kit looks like a lip kit in the rear and sides. The front is a complete bumper. I once had a lip kit(wings west) it was held with double stick tape. Then in the fender wells they had some self taping screws to hold it on. Was it the best? Nope but did the job. Try that. But get it painted first... And ask the painter how much for install.

So I got quoted $1,300, um.. no sorry so I decided to do it myself. I want to get the xp. I needed to fix the huge dent in the fender anyways and that wasn't part of the quote. Plus hood hinges.
I forked over $1800 to have my nismo v2 replica kit painted and installed which sounds like a lot but worth it to me because the fitment is literally perfect.

AIT's parts are garbage; they all fit like that. This is why you buy the original parts and not replicas. You pay the same amount or more to get the replica fitting "somewhat" close, when you could buy the original that fits properly in the first place. (not to mention supporting the original designers/manufacturers)
Why mod a car if it is going to be nickle and dimed? Ends up not coming out the way originally intended.
um dont mold the rear bumper add-on. It will MORE THAN LIKELY CRACK later on down the road. this is a 100% guarantee.
go ahead and try to make it work man, test fit, drill some holes **** up take it to the shop. but then they will probably quote you more seeing as how you ****ed it all up and they gotta fix everything which is double the work which is double the labor which is double the cost.
