Default New burnt orange door cards/armrests

So, my interior has been coming along, and I finally got the doors finished to my liking. I think these really add a nice touch of class and interest to an otherwise boring door. I have a base model Interlagos Fire, so my interior was the lame all black cloth when I bought it. In making changes, I've wanted to keep it looking like an OEM car would look- nothing radical, just keeping it classy.

So far, I have done the following:

New seat covers from leatherseats.com
New shift boot from the same
New leather door cards/Armrests from thezstore.com
New head unit
Added GPS dash and 7" Magellan
New speakers all around
Refinished all pieces that were the crappy rubberized/scratched material

So, here is the latest piece of the puzzle. What do you think?

Finished (pic looks a little wavy bc I used the iphone panoramic option):

Job well done.
Not sure how burnt orange goes with Interlagos...
Would not be my choice. Was burnt orange offered with
Interlagos with OEM?I'd go with antelope tan possibly with
a subtle top stitch to go with the classy I Fire color
I'm also not a fan of the "silver" used in the interior.
Looks cheap.CF in place of the silver is a better option IMO.
Especially aroound the shifter.

I have considered it, but heard it was a HUGE pain in the *** to do. Do you happen to know?

Thanks. I think via pictures etc BO is questionable to match up with IF, but in person it looks good. I get a lot of compliments (and a decent amount by other Z owners too). I think its because of the bronze in the IF. It actually matches pretty well IMO. I probably would have gone with a custom color if it wasnt so easy and affordable to go with BO, which is carried by the leather "stores".

I personally like silver mixed with black and orange. Carbon Fiber, if done right, looks nice- dont get me wrong. But it can be WAY overboard on some peoples cars, and since we already have silver accents, I just went with that. And the shifter surround is already silver- only change I made in that regard is the handle. My previous car I did a bunch of Di-Noc wrapping bc it was a lease, and I've considered doing it on some pieces on the Z just to see if I like the CF look enough to go w real pieces. Thats in the future sometime, though. PITA taking this stuff apart all the time!

This kind of shows the Interlagos Fire/Burnt Orange "match".

And, no, as far as I know it wasnt an OEM option.

Thanks. It wasnt too bad. They dont provide you with directions though. You have to take the doors apart (I'd already done that a few times though), take a bunch of screws out, spray adhesive, then fit the covers over. Some trimming, pulling etc and they were good to go. I probably did both in about 2 hours, including taking the door panels off/apart etc.

thezstore doesnt advertise it, but they dont keep these in stock. So if you order them thinking you will install them the following weekend, think again. It took about a month for me to get them.

Very nice! The steering wheel would look fantastic, as well as the E-brake as mentioned before!

Wow, amazing transformation. I may have to do something like this with my '08, as the interior has been annoying me lately. Do the handrake handle and boot - super easy - took me maybe 30 minutes. You don't have to remove the console, but don't choose one of those over-the-top Momo handles, which will ruin your subtle upgrades. Here's a pic of mine, which is an Isotta handle with a black suede boot:

Most of the pics are long gone, but basically you just use a sharp blade and slice open the fake seam along the top of the plastic handle. Then just peel it off. The Momo handles require an adapter, but the Isotta I used was a direct fit (lucky for me).

Really nice job OP

My Z came with these seats and I get compliments on them all the time. How much were the covers and did you remove the cloth or just cover the cloth with the leathers?

Comment on the Z STORE:
I've had similar "out of stock/BO" with the Z STORE.They used to have
everything in stock. Also,if they tell you it will be 2 weeks, add another 2
weeks to that...maybe 3.

Well done OP! I respect the subtlety of your design. Looks like it could have come that way directly from the factory while outclassing everyone else's stock interior.

I like it. Been debating the door panel swap on mine to match the seats. I don't like the orange boot, it sticks out too much for my taste. I'd rather do the euro ****.

Oh, yeah thats not bad. For some reason I had it in my head that you have to take apart the entire console. I'll probably buy one of these too.

Thanks. If I remember correctly, they were around $500 or so. I got them on sale at the time, I think normally they are $600. Either way, WELL worth it in my opinion. Leather really makes a difference compared to cloth. You remove the cloth and then hog ring the new seat covers in. Its exactly the same as an OEM cover.

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed in that. For the sake of keeping customers, they need to put that on the site right next to the item if its going to be longer than a week receiving.

Thanks, exactly what I was aiming for.

You know, somehow I never saw the euroknob until after I installed the boot. I wasnt happy, I REALLY like the euroknob, but cant have both without it looking ridiculous. Getting that stupid boot on was such a pain in the *** that I needed plenty of time off before I messed with it again. I do think the Euroknob and black leather boot will be in my future at some point.
