Default DRL disable???

This has been asked about a few times but never answered properly. I'm trying to figure out how to disable/remove/turn off my daytime running lights. I can't find any supporting information for this anywhere so any help from experienced owners would be awesome

That doesn't refer to the DRL module at all.... you may not have understood my question... I want to turn off my lights completely when I am in motion, have the hand brake off, and the switch off.

Cause then I wouldn't have headlights at all. My drl is my regular hid projector. That's why I need to know the location of the module so I can disable just the drl function.

AFAIK, if you've got DRL's enabled, it's been done with an aftermarket kit, as Nissan didn't include that feature natively. So, look for a non-OEM relay somewhere under the hood, in the battery compartment, or perhaps near the inside fuse box, and disable it.

I wish it was that easy but every car sold in Canada since the mid 90's ish by law is equipped with drl's from the factory/dealer. I just can't figure out where they install it.

I understand that, but even if dealer-installed, the DRL relay is probably easy to spot, as it's definitely a non-original add-on. Maybe ask a Nissan dealer to have a quick look for you?

So its an OEM DRL on a canadian model? Just look up where the relay is.

Why would you want to disable the light?

I'm almost positive that it is oem and I've tried to locate the relay but couldn't find any info.
Disabling them is mostly a personal preference for a few reasons. Mostly just the way it looks with just the markers on.

I saw that but the actual informative link in that post "http://www.gtasentra.net/howto/drlrewire.html" is not active.

What I find interesting is how many people that have no interest in the thread topic (on driver) took the time to say so.

Lol ya I hate when someone reaches out for help and just gets bashed on their personal preference. I wish that link worked. Thanks everyone for your input.

Default Got it.... kind of lol

Ok it took a lot of calling, visiting Nissan, ripping apart every wire under the hood, and visiting Nissan again..... but the result is all Canadian 350z's have the DRL's enabled and controlled by the BCM and the only way to disable it is to get Nissan to plug in and deprogram the option..... because it's the law in Canada they wont do it Hope this helps someone...... Now I gotta find a friend that works at Nissan :P

Hmmm, that's interesting. I'm in the US, and would actually like to have my DRL enabled. I'm taking the car in for an alignment this week, and I'm curious to see if the dealer has any clue about DRL on my '08.

the issue with 2006 350zs is that the HIDs and tail lights turn on(and remain on) once the e-brake is released. I like having my DRLs but I would rather have full control of my lights(or at least tail lights in this case lol)
