car has one hid lamp and other non hid?
Hello. I bought a 04 350z touring.i noticed one light wasnt as blue.well i bought two hid bulbs was going to replace and noticed one lamp has a regular halogen two prong and the other lamp had the hid .is there a piece i can buy to make it hid like the other stock lamp.or do i have to buy another lamp with the hid big rectangular plug.i have no idea why the other owner did that.??
Dont know how to upload pictures ..but i did check and the left light does have ballast attached under the headlight and with the silver rectangular cap behind the hid light.the passenger side does not have a ballast under the headlight.i have no clue why somebody would do that.would i need a headlamp assembly or certain parts to make it back to hid.??
Thats exactly what i thought that the owner didnt want to buy a new hid bulb.so yea atleast my lights work .but if i did want that side to be hid like the other what would i need.iam i able to buy a ballast or would there be other things i need to do.?

like did he have a whole retrofit going on the one good side: projector/shroud with the HID bulb and ballast? And then he has just a plain old light on the bad side. If so then it sounds like a repaired wreck where the auto shop just replaced with a standard headlight for your model year.

did all 350z have hid? maybe the prev owner replaced the headlight with a non hid one. idk why he would go through all that trouble and remove the ballast. hid bulbs are only $15 a pair on ebay. i rock'em. 2.5 years strong
I think certain models have them.mines a touring has cruise control all that.and yea i dont know why it was changed.just trying to figure out what i would have to do to make it hid again
This is what they'd look like, my Z is a 2006.
There nice.will they fit with no modifications to the 04 roadster.? As in the headlamp assembly.im sure there would have to be wiring done..?

Ok thanks.that even if the other side dont have hid.im surprised they took the ballast off and everything.not surr if they cut wires or anything.i do want to get the 06 headlights left side should be plug n play but not sure if theres anything on the harness alone.
Every model 350Z had H.I.D. headlights, now 2006+ had H.I.D. bi-xenon lights with projectors. To make that other headlight like OEM your going to have to buy a ballast and H.I.D. bulb BUT be advised you need to make sure it's the same wattage (35W). Like I was saying earlier I'd just save up or buy 2006+ headlights.

Op, Previous owner replaced for unknown reason with halogen headlamp n probably spliced the power wire.
I might take it to nissan to see what all the previous did if they hacked off the whole hid kit.im surprised they didnt just leave it and tuck it away..because i dont want to end up getting the 06 and find out the factory harness hid on that side is all gone ..thanks for all the help..

Base models from 2003-2005 came with halogen headlights, both low and high beam.
