Do both of the headlights have the HID ballasts attached to the headlights? Maybe post a picture.

Dont know how to upload pictures ..but i did check and the left light does have ballast attached under the headlight and with the silver rectangular cap behind the hid light.the passenger side does not have a ballast under the headlight.i have no clue why somebody would do that.would i need a headlamp assembly or certain parts to make it back to hid.??

The previous owner probably didn't want to cough up the extra money for an HID light so he cheaped out knowing once he sells it, he wouldn't deal with it

OP i'd just deal with it "as is" till you can buy 06+ headlights and just do a direct swap.

like did he have a whole retrofit going on the one good side: projector/shroud with the HID bulb and ballast? And then he has just a plain old light on the bad side. If so then it sounds like a repaired wreck where the auto shop just replaced with a standard headlight for your model year.

did all 350z have hid? maybe the prev owner replaced the headlight with a non hid one. idk why he would go through all that trouble and remove the ballast. hid bulbs are only $15 a pair on ebay. i rock'em. 2.5 years strong

Every model 350Z had H.I.D. headlights, now 2006+ had H.I.D. bi-xenon lights with projectors. To make that other headlight like OEM your going to have to buy a ballast and H.I.D. bulb BUT be advised you need to make sure it's the same wattage (35W). Like I was saying earlier I'd just save up or buy 2006+ headlights.

This is what they'd look like, my Z is a 2006.

Wait and save up for some 06+ headlights. They look and perform way better than the 03-05 lights.

If your Z came stock with HIDs then they will be plug n play.

The only wiring mod you'll do is snip a blue wire. Super easy.

Base models from 2003-2005 came with halogen headlights, both low and high beam.
