hit a fahking cat, need advice.
i'll try to post pics when i can tomorrow. a full grown cat ran out into the middle of the road in a 55mph zone. i was going 60 at the time with traffic all around. i slowed but still managed to knock the hell out of it. it completly dented the bottom lip and part of the black plastic grill. i dont have any issues paying for the damage to the car but was trying to figure out if i was better off just getting a lip (like the veilside version 1 in eurethane) and having a new metal grill put in it's place. any ideas? i figure now is the perfect time to do something.

Personally, I'd go with a new lip/grill or full front bumper kit replacement...
BUT depending on your deductable, you may want to consider claiming insurance and having the stock parts repaired/replaced too

had thought about insurance but don't want to deal with higher rates as a result. my decutable is 500$ and i know i can get the lip and grill cheaper than that or for right at the same amount. i guess what i'm trying to figure out is how the lip mounts so that i can tell if it will fix the problem.

. . . and make a nice fur shifterboot as a souvenir.
Sorry. Had to . . .
Get a nice tasteful lip. If you go stock, you'll just always think "man, I should have gotten an aftermarket lip."
Don't do insurance - that is for BIG damage.

If the cat's big enuff, you could make all kinds of neat "mods" for your Z...

wow thats a dumb comment if i've ever read one. i've never had an at fault accident period in my entire life. i've also never been ticketed for anything in my entire life. figure that one up. me hitting a cat has nothing to do with my driving skills. i couldn't swerve to avoid it and i did brake but stopping suddenly would probably cause an accident. figure that one up too.
yes i had an accident last year when some idiot decided to run a redlight while my left turn light was blatantly green. i had to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting them while turning to avoid hitting them. i hit a curb as a result which is a lot better than t-boning an idiot who ran a redlight. figure that one up too.
