Started my second wrap today.
Realized I may have posted this in the wrong section. Move if necessary. Had to attach as photobucket is a bucket right now.

I'd LOVE to be able to do parts off the car. Been trying to figure out if I could use some clips and one of those black and decker portable workbenches.
So far it's been mucho easier for me to wrap with panels on the car. Which sucks cause then ur dependant on outdoor temps.
Looks great though. Thanks for posting

John, do you mind sharing any of the tools that you're using? (including brands/models)
Heat gun, adhesion promoter (if at all), squeegee, etc...
I can't wait to see both of these in person

Correct, 3m satin white pearl.
I prefer to work in the house, certain parts are easier on the car. It's just so much cleaner in the house that no contaminates ever gets under the vinyl.
If anyone decides to do this to their Z or other car...
You need a minimum of 5x45ft assuming you make no mistakes and everything comes out perfect with no waste.
I use multiple squeegees but the one I use most is felt covered. I don't use any adhesion promoter, just 70% iso alcohol to clean the substrate.
The best brands are: 3m, Hexis, Avery, Oracal. I wouldn't try the cheaper no brand China stuff. You can buy the material on eBay from Autovinylsolutions.
Heat gun- 500 degrees is the max I'd heat my vinyl. Some people use torches, not for me. I replace my Xacto blades frequently and am surgical with it. I would never use an utility knife that even the pros use. Gouging paint is not cool.

I've thought about wrapping mine in either blue or gloss black. My 350z is already gloss black but there are is a lot of scrapes, specs and dings and one of them is pretty big on the front bumper that I always notice. People have said you can see the imperfections through the vinyl. Is that true? I would like to wrap mine because my bumper, hood and fenders look like poo up close and the wrap is cheap but I don't want the imperfections to show through and wrapping it looks very difficult and time consuming. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks gents.
No way. PD grabs onto everything, it's intended purpose is to provide grip on a wrench, why would you want that? Vinyl wipes clean easily, has a waxy surface, no over spray issues etc.
Anything that shows on your paint now that is physically damaged will show under the vinyl wrap, less obvious but it will still show. A door ding might be less noticeable but a gouge will definitely be there. It can be difficult if you don't know what you're doing.

Looking good. Id imagine you're at the stage in the wrap where you're either figuring out that you kinda like doing this type of work and could be a $$$ maker side job or realizing that it's kind of a pain in the *** and you don't want to do another one after this car.

Added some rice, actually wrapped over the sticker.
I actually hate working on cars, but I do it cause I don't trust anyone else to touch it.
