Default 350Z T2 roll cage completed!

Just finished the cage in a 350Z at our shop that hopes to compete in T2 . Turned out awsome, full interior(per the T2 rules), nascar style door bars, fully TIG welded, and realy tight fitment.

I'd love to post some pics for you guys if someone can host (super big files)

Thanks,

Jon

DWNSHIFT,

I'll try sending them Friday morning. Thanks

Jmark,

Nope. Just a customer of ours. Would love to if he let me, very nice car.
I drive a Supra TT.

John,

Yep, Mitch did it again. Jedd helped alot too, he's becoming a top notch fabricator with Mitch teaching him the tricks of the trade. I think it might leave early next week, but let me know if your going to stop by. We still have to mount a Sparco seat.
It's our 3rd 350Z, but seems like more Z guys are calling all the time.

I'll try to post some lower res pic and sending some to dwnshift.

Are you open tomorrow? I have to drive out to OG tomorrow to pick up some roll bar padding, so I'll be out in your neck of the woods. Unless you all have the padding, then I can just get it from you all...

T2 is going to be tough if what I heard is true - - I heard that the SCCA opened up the rules and now computers, chips, boost, etc is open - I heard a SRT Neon (with boost at who knows what) walked all over everybody here in the Florida Nationals at Sebring and Moroso - granted a flashed ECU with help the 350Z alot but boost out the butt is hard to match - - I ran a SSGT Camaro back in the day against Boris Said and others, we couldn't even touch brake pads - all OEM - - it was a blast.

Oh, well I don't want you to have to make a special trip to the shop for me... I'd feel bad since it's your day off...

D A M N nice work!

Too bad you had to loose the door panel trim, oh, well, the sacrifices one must make to RACE!

I like how you did the bar around the A pillar.

What's the group buy price?

John,

No problem on making it to the shop on Sat. LMK if you still want to swing by. Also thanks for posting the pics.

Sz28R,

Yeah boost is hard to beat, but so far looks like the Z wil certainly be a contender.Besides tuff classes are fun to race in . The new SCCA rules are still pretty strict for this class and after talking with NISMO about avaliable parts and chassis construction I feel the Z's balance(brakes, power, handling) will be it's best asset. Mitch will be running at Daytona next week in a integra TYPE-R for the Grand-am race. We should get to see what will be instore for the 04 racing season.

Ranger5o,

Yeah cargo was compromised but Nismo and our experience agreed that stiffing up the rear chassis would be a advantage. Win some lose some.

EnthuZ,

thanks for the compliment. The door panels were cut to give the Max amount of intrusion space for the driver. Also by running a nascar style door bar on both sides allows interior trim to be removed(less weight). The rules call for a complete interior except when the cage is involed within reason(ie nascar style on both sides). no group buy price yet ,but I think mitch would be willing to do some roll bars(the main hoop, rear bars, harness bar, diagonal bar) for a better price if a couple people had them done at the same time.

ADMAN,

No DIY kits, sorry. We have a certain way of installing and building a cage or bar in a vehicle. Our standards are very high and we wouldn't feel right about blasting out mass produced cages that "fit ok". Each cage we do is custom for the car and the drivers needs(as well as class of racing) and each cage(as with everything) is approved by Mitch who is far more critcal than any customer of our work. It's also always nice to be proud of our work too. Though I'd love to have a bunch of 350z with our roll bars in them. I'm sure we could help you out.

Jon, let me know what time you can be there and I think James and I would like to stop by. If you want me to suggest a time, how about around 3 or so?
