I just don't get why people take off an aluminum hood to put on a carbon fiber hood or worse yet a carbon fiber covered fake hood that doesn't weigh any less. I understand even less why people put hoods on their cars with holes in them unless they need to.

Have you ever been to a car show before, like an Import Expression or a Hot Import Nights? People do all of these outrageous mods...its what makes your car different.

SCOOT is the design that this hood came from. The SCOOT hood is originally from the 3rd gen RX-7's, they copied it and put it on to the Z.

I'm honestly thinking about a vented hood for my Z.

I can't believe how much heat builds up in there and STAYS there for a long time.

I drove my car about ~45mi to a friends house. We were inside playing Xbox games and went outside to leave to go get some food. He wanted to see the new CF stuff I put on. Even after 2hrs and relatively cool temperatures here, most of the stuff under the hood was too hot to touch and my car is NOT running hot.

I think a vented hood would help a lot with cooling the engine bay. That's never a bad thing IMO.

I definitely would love to get a ventilated hood. Granted, I'd have to see that hood on the car to really get an idea of it, but I need something. Temps under my hood can get pretty damn hot. Heat + Supercharger = Bad

I wish I could find a CF one that had the factory lines just with vents along the sides kinda like this one, but without the fruity scoop in the middle.

well..everyone keeps talking about seeing it on a car first....that hood is made by VIS and they are looking for a test fitter...the hood will retail for 550 but they are letting the first one go for 350 to see if it fits...if it doesnt fit you can send it back for a refund...i saw this in another thread

So they make a hood without ever having a Z to actually fit it to? That's the lamest thing I ever heard.

What ever happened to actually testing a product for fit and function before you put it on the market????? You see this "sell it first and see if there are returns" approach more and more these days.

Laaaaaaaaaaaame.
