Finally had the time ti start on sometyhing thats been on myu mind for quite a long time. Being a big apply iphone/ipad user, i knew i had to get this done ti my car. So over the week i pulled out my dash and then grabbed a hand saw and really hoped for the best result. Attached are pics of how it turned out. I'm quite impressed of how it all fits in so perfectly into the factory dash and how it turned out to look. The factory dash didnt require any difficult adjustments but to simply just cut the middle bar that seperates the stock radio headunit and storage box. The maind work was to create the housing and front bezel. The way i have designed it was to intentionally have the ipad slide in the charging dock when i enterthe car and when im leaving the car i can simply slide it out and take it with me. Literally just takes 1 second. The housing that allows the ipad to rest on is made out of wood and fiberglass while the front bezel that stops it from falling forward is made purely out fo fiberglass. Hiding behind the ipad is a kenwood kdcu5dt headunit (really does improve sound quaility compared to the standard radio unit). This headunit features a full compatible ipad connection dick which allows me to play audio and charge the ipad at the same time. Can also stream audio through bluetooth which is handy when my passengers wants to use the ipad in their hands.
