Default why are you not supposed to use carbon fiber doors for street purposes?

All the sites that i have seen have always said for off road use. So why should I not use cf doors for street driving. The way i understand it, CF isn't any weaker than sheet metal.

The street has way way way more varibles just in daily driving a vehicle, let alone own a sportier car. Also what ever doors you're looking at aren't laid for strength! Without having a cage you are just looking to hop the hood of a soccer moms minivan.

oem door has steel reinforcement to protect you during a side collision. the cf door does not.

CF may be stronger at times but the impact beam as mentioned is not there. Then you also have to look at the fact that the doors are fibre glass with only the outer layer being carbon.

I owned a '74 Lotus Europa (google it) and a door without the window glass weighed right around 7 pounds. That car has only a backbone frame, so you can imagine what might happen in a side impact collision.
