So, just today, my drivers side interior door handle will not open the door. I have to have the window down and use the outside handle to get out.

I looked and it isn't even trying to release the latch. I'm guessing the clips broke.

Any ideas on if that's right or the best/easiest way to fix it?

 

see if the cable came out of if its broken...replace broken part.

 

I've taken the door panel off to install door speakers. Can I see it from there, or disassemble even further?

 

yes, the handle is mounted to the door panel. takes 5 min to take off.

 

Thanks. Forgot the cables were right there. Found the broken plastic holder on the handle.

That's the first thing that popped in my head...I was like, "did I hit a switch or something" haha

Tried to repair it...but was unsuccessful, hopefully the part can be ordered. otherwise I'll be looking for a whole door handle.

 

I'm having the same issue, I heard a clip fall inside the door. I'm gonna open her up this weekend..

 

Found my problem. It's the plastic piece that holds the barrel on the end of the cable. Right now, it's fixed with zip ties (LOL) and will be picking up a new handle this week.
