Default Please Help! Side Skirt Install

Hi there, I currently have my car in the shop because I was backed into inside of a parking lot, I have side skirts sitting at my place so I figured I would just have them use those and paint/install them instead of repainting and using the stock ones. I have no clue how to install the side skirts but apparently mine are missing the upper part of them where the door closes. I have attached pics to show you what I mean.

The sides and everything else line up perfectly, the only problem we can't figure out is why there is such a huge gap on the top part of the side skirts where the door closes. PLEASE help me out asap!

The first pic shows the gap I am talking about on the top of the side skirts where the door closes.

This second picture shows the width difference, it is hard to see but the dark black is the width of the unpainted skirt, the white is the stock. You can see how the stock one has a "lip" that comes up and out, the ones I am wanting to install don't have that lip and is why there is a gap I think.

I have another pic I am going to try uploading to show a close up on the width difference if I can fix the contrast on it, it is hard to see the black unpainted skirt in that pic.

Anyone? I really need some quick help here because my car is literally in the shop right now and I would love to get these skirts installed, they look so much better than stock. They are ViS Wings Side Skirts or something very similar to the wings, but it is for sure made from ViS. Hopefully someone can give me some suggestions or anything that will help me out! Thanks in advance!

A few ideas:
Have the shop fiberglass the missing section.
Return/sell the sides and stay stock.
Make some custom brackets out of aluminum.
Have the shop fiberglass.

Maybe the shop pulled a fast one, cut it to make more $$$ from you?

No they didn't, I brought the skirts in and we put it up to the car as soon as I got there with them because the car was already being prepped and fixed from the damage caused when I got hit in the parking lot. This is just odd to me if that entire upper portion is missing, usually ViS is known to have good quality fitments for their products.

My skirts had the same problem and I had my bodyshop fiberglass the top piece and actually goes under the Z emblem area to mount. It's very clean and looks great. Pay a couple bucks and have it done right.

I asked them if they would fiberglass it and they said that they wouldnt want to because they don't have a molding for it and something about the fiberglass they use is some thin stuff.

Sounds like excuses to me. Take them to a better shop. It's going to be a pain in the *** but someone will do it.
