Nissan hamburger on a no carb diet
I recently removed the rear badging from my 2004 350z. It ended up looking kind of bare, so I modified the big Nissan badge and put it back on. Just thought I would share.
Looks pretty good as long as you don't get too close.

I like it! Original. I bet the "don't get too close" comment is because of the cut areas on the edges. I wonder if anything can be done to clean that up short of sanding it down and painting the whole thing (then you don't get the chrome).

I did sand the entire thing down to the plastic, except for the black NISSAN letters. I used bondo to fill in the area that used to be attached to the "buns", then I masked off the letters with tape and spray painted the badge with an aluminum paint. Then I removed the tape, added more black paint to the existing letters, and then sprayed the whole thing with automotive clear coat. So it is not chrome any more. It matches the aluminum look of the door handles.
It ended up being a lot of work. But that is why we are here.
