N80 I would seriously consider doing two things;

getting an oem bumper, spending money on something else - i.e. nice new tires or amsoil or nismo s tune exhaust

Deleting your my350z account (contact an admin ASAP), someone on here may track you down by your IP address and get some vengeance for the dog.

Good luck

It's not like the OP sought out to purposefully hit a dog that was on the street... Accidents happen.

It's kind of funny how people reacted to this. It was pretty much either hit the dog or hit another car. My wife was in the car and she was horrified of course, but agreed that there was no way to avoid it. Maybe I just put it too bluntly. I guess I should have used a few of these: . And the guy in the post above is right, I shouldn't have mentioned it. But, it is what it is.

I had no idea I'd need to go into hiding.

i understand the OP, but he came out as a heartless driver, when he said he(THE DOG) didn't feel a thing. That is why all the ruckus on the forum. i would imagine he could do the same with a kid. (No, I left it in the yard where it landed. What would you have done? Mouth to mouth? Knock on the door and hand it to them? Put up a little cross? Drape it with a sheet? Draw a white outline around it? COLD VERY COLD.

So how is "did not feel a thing" cold or heartless? What is the alternative to "did not feel a thing"? Would it be better if it suffered for hours? Sounds like maybe you are the heartless one?

I think that is exactly where the problem lies. Some folks don't seem to be able to differentiate between the sympathy one would afford to a dog accidentally struck by a car verses the sympathy would afford to a human being that was struck by a car. There is a difference. A big difference.

Not cold at all. Someone who had no idea what he was talking about suggested that I handled the situation poorly (which I did not). The response was making fun of his ignorance of the situation.........not the situation itself. (I suspect he has a ridiculous amount of negative camber on his Z....how about you?)

I think the reason people are bashing you OP is that you briefly mentioned hitting a dog very callously and then went on to talk about your car, which showed little if any empathy at all. I'm willing to bet more people cared about what happened to the dog than what happened to your bumper. Food for thought.

I agree completely............but this is a car web site, not a PETA website. I never should have mentioned the dog. Big mistake. But don't worry, I'm not taking any of this personally.....I'm still assuming its all in fun. For anyone seriously upset about the dog or me being a heartless basterd....well, that's a problem they'll have to deal with on their own. () Prozac or lithium might be beneficial.

Ok all the trolls can come out now, we had our fun with the guy.

N80, 99% of the comments made in this thread about the dog are actually troll posts, they are just having a little fun trying to get the best out of you. , yes including me.

In all seriousness, yes it's sad that the dog died, but at the end of the day he died a far cleaner death then some of the PETA cases out there (i.e. owners torturing dogs, blowing them up etc)

With that said it seems like the consensus is to stick with oem bumper
I'd check out the classified for sale to see if you can get a good deal on the same color bumper or try courtesynissan.com

Yep. Me too. Do trolls know when they've been trolled?

Yep. I've got a good body shop.....what with all the dogs around here...and USAA is covering all but the deductible. So I'm going to get Nissan made OEM bumper. I'm going to go ahead and get them to spray the hood too. Track days have sand blasted it.
