Depo 06+ style headlights and other aftermarket headlights thread
#362
The lenses that come with the Depos are not pretty clear. The STi-R lenses are far clearer. The Depo lenses are not even fully round...they're stepped. I shined a very bright flashflight through both lenses and could see a clear difference. Whether this translates to a better light on the road when it's installed is still to be determined.
One thing I have noticed about the stock 03-05s... I think they have much better output with D2S bulbs rather than D2Rs. I am also pretty sure I have a set of clear lenses for them too. I will crack them open tomorrow.

I ordered some off of the z store. Not sure the number either.. But it matches the number on the back of the Depo headlights. Which say the bulb number next to each socket.

Had the same issue I put duct tape on the bottom of the headlight where the ballest goes no more issues. From what I've seen in mine the condinsation goes away and leaves no residue

I have had some condensation build up inside the lens. Not alot... I believe it comes from the bottom of the headlight. Where it rests on the bumper.. Im gonna open mine and re-seal them soon. No problems with my high beams tho , and I shutter the heck out of the solenoids

To all the non-believers, FWIW, these are prob one of the best purchases I've made, and that's coming from a guy whom already had a set of 06+ OEM headlights. For 03-05 350z, these will provide even a better bang for you buck. Some of the 06+ z owners may view these as a downgrade but aside from a few cosmetic flaws, everything is as good as it gets for the price you pay. Plus, I sold my 06+ headlights for some profit so it worked out well.
STI-r lenses > depo lenses > 06+ lenses. Depo lenses are clearer than the 06+ lenses. trust me.
Cut off on depo's + sti-r lenses compared to 06+ headlights is on par if not better. From my perspective, I thought it was a definite improvement over the 06+ cutoffs so dunno why some are questioning. I posted somehwat of comparison photos back on page 6 as well.
The depo's + sti lenses does provide that sharper, more colorful cutoff.

I'm having a problem with the high beam solenoid on the drivers side sticking. Looks like I'm going to have to take it apart and fix it. I had condensation for about the first week but it has totally gone away.

Havnt yet! Today I noticed 2 of my Parking LED nodes flickered off.. Came back on with a tap on the headlight though.. Starting to PMO honestly.. Ill fix it all once i open them. Did the STI lense really increase it that much? The stock depo lense is pretty clear besides the ripples.
