ive tried doing research but i dont exactly understand what people are saying because they dont really explain. im an extreme noob when it comes to wiring and things of that sort so my question is what exactly will i need to swap my 03 non hid headlights to hid? thanks for any help you can provide.
I've seen it explained plenty of times on here. If your car is indeed an 03-05 base like mine then you're only options are
A) Buy a set of 06-08 headlights. Even the base model for the 06-08 came with HID's, whereas the 03-05 base model only came with halogens. You will get both HI and LOW beam in HID with this route.
B) Buy an HID conversion kit, They are around 90-150 bucks depending what company, manufacturer, etc and you would need two kits if you wanted a HI/LOW beam in HID like the 06-08 headlights. Otherwise you could just settle for the low beam kit like I did and keep the cost down. This option is not as quality as the 06-08 headlights as the housing and a couple of other parts of the 03-05 halogen headlights was not intended to be used for HID lighting.
Hope this clears some things up for you, but I would research your car a bit more and learn more about it before you go tearing into it
