Default 350z and Bucket Seats

Is there a way to use a fixed back bucket seat and side mount rails with the stock seat belts? I was thinking maybe I could unhook the bottom of the seatbelt, string it through the left side harness hole in the seat, and then just string it through the other side when I need to put it on. I would really rather not use harnesses because this is my daily

you can string the permanently mounted side just fine but what are you gonna do with the buckle side? string that through too? and mount the receptacle to the seat rail bolt?

if you are dead set in adding legit bucket seats than put a seat belt bar in like the sparco bar.

I know what you mean…it'll look terrible, it'll jeopardize your safety and how are you going to mount the buckle receptacle?

Why can't you just buy some nice semi-bucket seats (the stocks are already "semi-buckets") and just keep your stock belt exactly as-is...

Why do you need a full bucket seat?

Most sets of seat rails have a little nut for mount the stock buckle. How would it reduce my safety? Im not really bent on doing this but im not really seeing how this could jeopardize safety

^^^ Hence the quotations. It was sarcasm, lol.

I see that you upgraded from a 240. Thats awesome, I see useless 240's all of the time with bucket seats for literally no reason at all.

If you're going to track your Z. Great. Get at least a harness bar and secure yourself properly.

But if not, I don't see really why you want to install a full bucket in a daily. What's your justification? Just the fact that you have one laying around?

Sorry, its hard to tell over the internet. Yeah thats the thing, its my daily, and i would like to do parking lot autocross events sometimes. Therefore a harness would be overkill.

Is this sarcasm too? its because im a ricer

Why not save yourself the ballache of fitting a bucket seat and/or harness and just go out and buy yourself a CG-Lock, Its a great bit of kit and is nearly as good as fitting a harness without all of the hassle. It keeps the lap section of your standard belt locked tight and holding you in your seat. I know one of these was used in the Toyota sprint series without the need of bucket seat or harness.

Have you ever sat inside fixed seats?

I was set on getting a pair for my car until I sat in a few cars with them. If I got them I would have hated my car during commutes.

Since mine is the same as yours, a daily with occasional autox, I reccomend staying with the stock seat and belt, since I was thinking the same exact thing as you recently.

The only fixed seat I would consider is the Recaro Pole Position as it was not THAT bad.

If I eventually do get seats, I will be getting reclinable seats.

I highly suggest sitting in fixed seats so you can get an idea of how uncomfortable you will be during commutes. Your back will hate you.

1.) Sit inside seats to get a feel for what you want.
2.) You're on the right track, look up a few install threads of bucket seats and your question will be answered.
3.) Smile
4.) Go broke after ordering seats.
5.) Profit

No idea , a member on here did it a few years back.

Also, if you have airbags in your OEM seats, do not swap to aftermarket.

OP the CG lock is gold, I suggest learning the car first, than upgrading it from stock. The car was built really well
