7440 to 7443 Conversion (rear turn signal)
So stock '03 Z rear turn signals are a 7440 socket/bulb. I recently bought some red LED turn signals. The bulbs he sold me were 7443 type. They work fine in the 7440 socket and light fine. However, the guy at V-LED's was telling me that I could swap the socket out for a 7443 and gain an extra wire to run the turn signals at a dimmed output (as a running light). I read somewhere else that I could simply buy a 7443 socket and shave down the biggest tab and it will fit like a glove. I can run the dimming wire from the socket and tap into the brake/running light, I know that much. My question for the forum is this: Is it possible to also run the bright wire (which right now activates the blinker) and have it serve as a brake light too (without disrupting blinker. IE: hitting the brakes and turning on my blinker, having whichever side the turn signal is on alternate from dim to bright while opposite side is solid bright). Crossing my fingers that somebody knows because I think it would look SICK.

It may be possible, but my biggest concern would be legality.
I've seen my share of custom lighting, but I can't remember anyone wanting a dimming feature (brake light) along with the turn signal.
I would advise against reducing the visibility of your turn signals, but I realize the desire to do something totally custom.
You'll have a tough time reducing the resistance on the circuit (dimmer) while maintaining a regular turn signal speed.

On my old 94 gmc truck the tail light does it. It basically serves all 3 lights in one bulb. No brake no turn, just stays a dim "rear side marker/running light". Hit the brakes and it becomes bright on both sides. Say you hit the left blinker, the right tail light stays solid bright, the left tail light alternates from dim-bright like a normal blinker/running light combo. I've seen it done before as a stock option on quite a few cars, I'm just wondering if it's possible to wire that into a system that wasn't designed to run as such
