Torn Rubber lining between windshield and roof
Hey guys, I recently purchased my brother's 350z ('04 touring, 69k mi) for a good price as he will be studying abroad for the next couple of years. It's in pretty great shape mechanically, and the exterior looks nice except for a few blemishes here and there, I would assume from basic wear and tear over the years. The only major issue however is the torn rubber lining between the windshield and the roof of the car which looks terrible, and I need some advice as to how I should go about fixing it.

If the images aren't working I apologize, still trying to figure out whats wrong but in the meantime here is a link to the imgur album:

I have no idea how this happened, nor does my brother, but the white stuff you see is superglue, yes superglue that my brother applied at the suggestion from the body shop guy he took the car to. It looked like complete **** as it dried white, so i managed to get rid of most of it, but there's still some left I need to go back and remove.
Anyways, I have absolutely no clue how to go about fixing this, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Any good windshield repair shop can fix this.
For a quick temp repair, use butyl rubber as you get with a windshield install kit.
This material is in a ribbon roll. Its very gummy. Will seal any leaks.I always have some around for uses on mounting emblems, any kind of adhesive use.Its very durable but messy.

I replace windshields for a living and what I would do is take a utility knife blade and carefully run it down the center of the molding basically cutting it in half long ways. The molding is a weird reverse type and you and cut the section that is damaged off without any adverse effects. Moldings have nothing to do with the seal on your windshield. If you do it right it will look fine. Might need to do some minor buffing on the roof where the molding laid. There will probably be a dirt line
