Little insight on the a-pillars, when working on my old z, had everything torn apart, battery was out, the windows go down when you open the doors then go back up when you close them. I found this out first hand when my window was up and smashed the a pillar causing a crack..this is more than likely what happened to that car..

I know this is an old thread, but I am looking to purchase a 2003 350Z with 135k miles on it. This car has identical cracks as those shown by the original poster. Does anyone else have any idea what might cause such a thing? It has never been in an accident and everything is all original. These cracks are the only imperfection in the entire vehicle.

I'm hoping it was something as simple as that. It just pains me to believe that someone would have done it to both sides. Seems like they might have noticed once they smashed the first one.

One of two main things, windshield was replaced and they didn't remove the pillar cover properly (it has to come off for glass replacement) or attempted break in.
