Default AIT Racing nightmare - Warning!

So I have a R35 GtR style AIT racing bumper on my 350z. A guy at work backed into me and cracked it. I ordered a new one. When it got here, my body shop inspected it and found it had been damaged at the factory and poorly repaird. It still had a massive crack in it. I contacted AIT about it and they pretty much told me it wasn't their problem. They said since I signed for the package, all damage, including defects, became my responsibility. I offered to email the guy pictures of the damage so he could see them and see it wasn't shipping damage. I was informed "He didn't care and they didn't prove anything." I just wanted everyone to know how I've been treated by AIT and keep anyone else from making my mistake.

Call the better business bureau if your cc company won't do anything about it.

If all else fails do a chargeback n send it back to them. Might be worth taking the hit on shipping

I would just file a claim with my bank for the full amount, and not even worry about sending the damaged piece back. I've had things like this happen before, and was able to prevail, and my bank didn't care whether I returned the damaged goods, or not. With this particular vendor, and the attitude they're taking, I say F**k them.

I'd send it back anyway. One less claim they can make if they decide to take things further. At least ud look like the better and more honest person in this situation.

The first problem is the GTR bumper , next is the disclaimer they have, and they believe it was fixed to acceptable raw standards. Just get a refund and pick a different 350Z bumper.

The fitment on the first bumper was amazing, as was quality. I also got the carbon fiber half slats on the rear from Ait. I was very impressed with Ait,that's why I went back to replace the damaged one. I posted a thread about this on another website and had several other people come forward with similar issues, especially concerning carbon fiber hoods. According to AIT, once the delivery person shows up, you are to inspect the piece top to bottom, even go as far as unwrapping it, it doesn't matter how long the driver has to wait. The bad part is this is clearly not a shipping damage issue.

Here's a few quotes from AIT Racing's website:

"Spoilers/Body kits: Buyer fully understands that all body kits are sold "as is" with no warranty. Due to the fact that most body kits are FRP Composite products and intended only for off-highway/show only Buyer also understands that due to strict U.S. Federal and State Safety crash guidelines; AITracing.com is not responsible or liable for any damages or possible injury incurred upon possible accidents due to driver error, incorrect installations, and bad judgment (cracking or breaking your parts). Buyer understands that all body kits/spoilers may need modifications for correct fitment such as removal of safety reinforcements, removal of factory bumper lights/side marker indicators, shaving, molding, etc. Because several of these kits are prototyped and used on none-US spec. vehicles that have much less safety standards/requirements in their respected country of origin. Buyer understands that all body kits require some prep work before paint. Please seek professional body shop not collision repair shop for paint and installation."

"Return Policy. Due to the nature of our online site, and the products listed, we AITracing have a strict NO RETURN policy for any product. No product shall be able to be returned for a like item, or for a cash refund."

For all those buying body kits, make sure you know what terms you're agreeing to before you buy it.
