I looked at many seats, and really felt that the Z’s seat was more versatile and superior (other than the cheap OEM covering material which wore out). With this in mind, I decided to go with recovering and updating my original seats. The options include any material (fabric, leather, or suede) and color, and extras such as lumbar support.

You might want to check recovering your existing seats. The cost isn’t much less, but you get many choices that often make this solution a better solution.

Thanks for the reply, thing is my stock seats are still in great shape and look fine, I just may want a new look with some sport type seats. I don't track my car either and I'd want something that stands out, yet at least fairly comfortable. Like you said, there are mega options out there and I was surprised once I started looking. I think I'll pick a nice model and then it will be a decision of color; even seat belt color that looks good with it haha!

Thanks stogey! Yeah, about now my brain is a bit burned out from looking at so many possibilities. I'm calling CZP in the a.m. to ask about their Bride Gias low max-$1,200 and the Brix 2 reclining seat that is about $400 less. They have some other Brides and some nice Sparco's too. Also Vivid Racing has a big selection. Got to try to keep up with guys like you hehe!

I seriously considered replacing my seats, and after investigating the options, I went with recovering (Katzkin) adding lumbar support and seat heaters. I looked at Bride and Sparco, and thought that my OEM seats were better for a rebuild. I wanted lumbar support, a specific color, and custom seat heaters.

I’ll take some pictures when I get the car back in a couple of weeks.

I'd appreciate that! Yeah, I think the stock seats (I'm '07, not sure of other years) are lacking the lower back support that old guys like myself need. *yes I noticed some very nice seats like some Recaro models that are for comfort and have the climate control system too; I'd like that, but don't want to pay for that feature.

Blue your car is way above and beyond mine lol, keep up the good work! Be sure to have no regrets when buying your seats/mods.

Reason why I love the Bride Euro II and Vorga so much is because of their low thigh bolsters.... many would want the opposite due to track purpose but not me. Also the 'cougar' eyes on both seats look better than most IMO. It doesn't matter what color car you have, I would only get red seats because I feel seats should be loud and stand out. I've been eyeing on both seat for a very long time, hoping the price will lower but it hasn't. Fck'd up how our car depreciate but the parts I want doesn't smh.

Again GL on your decision, subscribing to pix.

^Thanks man! I agree with you about wanting a seat that stands out on whatever your car color is. I had thought about how a red would look in my sm blue and in the new thread about favorite/worst colors, there is one that is SMB like mine and I noticed some cool red seats, so that answers that for me "if" I were to choose a red! Here are some pics of a new model of Bride that has had me drooling:

Agreed 100%. Red all the way.

Gias low max are great seats with an awesome Carbon Kevlar shell but those thigh bolsters are too high for my liking. Getting in and out will be a problem and not practical for me. Great seats none the less.

You are right about the Euro 2 ($855 range) and the Vorga, yes these would be much easier in/out. a couple pics of the Vorga ($1,600 range, me drool again!):

Vorga won! I just ordered from Nengun performance in Japan; different than a typical American site, but it is a good site; (14 hrs. later, nightime in Japan right now), but I did recieve the order #info.and I printed that off, so it went through.

One thing I found out after a lot of search is that the Vorga model has a "HL" model (Hyper Low) that is designed for Z33, Skyline r32-r34, Silvia, GTR and a few others. The HL rails are specifically for those seats/cars and for Z33. *By the way, the Vorga seats are basically all the same (except for a more expensive japanese suede option), just need different rails; glad I picked up some good info. before.

My seats will be Bride Vorga Type HL Red Logo (red seats with the logo that goes all down the seat) with the hyper low rails for the z33. Is kind of cool to just deal directly with a company in Japan. These aren't cheap; mucho yen lol, but overall I think I may have saved a couple hundred bucks; not positive how total cost would be from American companies once tax, shipping, etc. are concerned.

These Vorgas have to be special ordered from Japan anyway as I found out from several popular sites that sell them. *can't wait to get the sucka's in!

This is what I ordered (2 of course):

Thanks, yeah I'm like a little kid on Christmas morning! The Euro 2's were very tempting and about 1K less $, but those "Cougar Eyes" (what the Japanese actually call 'em) on the Vorga's seduced me and I'm sure that I'll be patting myself on the back once installed. Don't know yet the timeline, waiting for the Japanese to get up!

BigBlue, Looking good. Please post back to this thread after you install the seats with comments (and pictures would be great).

I went a different path, keeping the stock seats and recovering with Katzkins. I'll throw up some pics when I get everything installed.

Thanks guys! These are supposed to be comfortable seats; mostly hand made and looking at the pics it looks like some nice lower back support.

I have a list of DIY, videos, pics of the how to's. I understand that many guys have used the 10 ohm resistors in the wiring harness under the seats and I have vids of the airbag "reset" procedure as far as getting rid of the blinking airbag light. *However, on these sites there are plenty of guys who have replaced seats, followed these procedures, etc. and it didn't work for them. Quite a few it didn't work.

It sounds like Nismo at least had a unit that just simply plugged into the harness to tell the ecu that airbags are ok, but I searched around and can't find something good that I could just buy; I'll do the resistor routine and airbag light reset, unless any of you guys that have put new racing seats and had to deal with the seat airbag delete scenerio have some updated info. and/or solutions.

I'd sure appreciate any modern info. about what solutions that you guys with new seats have done; I'd like to get it taken care of possibly before the new seats arrive, so I'm getting on this project now. *Also, WTF about the "weight sensor" on pass side? Can that just be deleted with the seat airbags? No way am I going to dig into my brand new seats to install the stock weight sensor from my '07 seats, I'd rather just put a piece of electrical tape over the airbag light haha!

Sorry for the long post and for bringing up an "old" subject, but I did search many hours and there are so many "didn't work"; pros/cons, theories that is why I think it's quite ridiculous and should be a simple solution out there; I've been "a good boy" lately on this site so please help me out guys!
This is exactly the only reason why I still have my stock seats. The stock seats are garbage, I actually preferred my stock Civic SI seats 100x over the Z seats.

Good luck with the install! Those are sick seats!
