Default A what is it question

Can some one tell me what the electronic box located behind the passenger side upper interior rear wheel well is. It's about the same size as the one under the antenna on the driver's side. It is wired into the wiring harness that crosses the rear of the car.

Thanks.

Navigation unit, if the car has it.

Detail D shows the navi unit in the area you're talking about.

Problem solved! Thanks for your responses. Not navigation system. The box isn't as large and does not have the mounting brackets as shown in D.

I went back out to the car to get dimensions of the little box to post a better desciption. Measured about 2.5. x 3.5 inches. A white rod extended from the end of it. Of course, I pulled on it to see if would do anything. It did! I heard a little plunk sound and looked to the outside of the car. The fuel door was open. I shut the door and pulled the rod again. Fuel door popped open. The electronic box was the fuel door opener with a manual release (the white rod).

Again, thanks for the responses.

Yes- and now you know how to open the little fuel door if the electronic release ever fails!

Not gonna happen! Now that I know what it is, and I have the rear interior plastics off, it would be foolish of me to not go ahead and make up a pull lanyard similar to the hatch pull. Drill a small hole in the plastic covers, add a small grommet and a pull and it would look factory. The little rod offers no resistance at all.

Don't want the eventuality of the box going bad at a gas station. What a pain in the a$$ and expense that would be.

Thanks for the input tho....

Default What is it #2

The previous owner of my Z (2004) removed nav system, the sub-woofer and speakers and any and all other electronics that may have existed in the storage cubby hole behind both passenger and drivers side seats. Only thing remaining is two empty rectangular brackets and some loose connectors (not plugged into anything).

My questions are:

1. Can someone tell me what the relay goes to that is attached to a metal bracket on the passenger side in the cubby hole. It is brown and white, about 2 inches long has 6 wires running from it

2. There is also a white connector plug with 2 wires running from it that is capped with a black end cap. I think this might be seat warmers wires. (my seats do not have warmers)

3. And one thin rectangular orange connector, 2 inches wide that has 9 wires running to it but is not plugged into anything.

I have looked at many diagrams but am still not sure. If you can help I would appreciate it.
