Default Front Bumper getting replaced. Interested in a custom paint job. Help!

Hey mates,

A Land Rover backed into me damaging my side fender and front bumper. Her insurance is paying for all repairs so my car is in the shop. I am interested only in the original body work with no modifications; however, I saw on the street a Z with a paint job on the front bumper that looked really really nice. The only difference was that the bottom middle part of the bumper was the same color as the grill lines- black. It made the grill look longer and more aggressive. Do you know wot I mean? I want to ask my body work guy to do the same to my front bumper but I cannot find a picture of that example if my life dependent on it and I can't really describe it to him either because I'm not positive as I've seen this Z only a couple times out here in Santa Monica (its white). If anyone understands my gibberish and can help me out by posting some pics it would be great. Again, its the original front bumper and not any other.

Pic of my Attached. Have the Nismo Double Air-intake installed. Thats all

Thanks mates!

If you are getting a stock front bumper, I think you may be referring to the bar that runs under the front grill. You can ask them to paint that black. Its fairly common I see it all the time.

^^^ If that is what you mean... You could just vinyl wrap that portion in 3M/Avery brand quality and would be able to remove it later with no issues if you planned on re-selling in the future... Just a thought.

I would have it painted, then as pyshin said have it wrapped or you could get a cf cover that sticks on with 3M.

Also, since you are getting your front bumper painted, I HIGHLY recommend getting a clear bra for it. I have the entire front of my car and think it was probably the best investment for my car. I have 0 rock chips now and it is a great feeling, especially on a dark car like mine where you see everything!

Thanks for the advice. A clear bra does sound like a good idea as I saw tons of rock damage on my bumper before. I will ask if insurance can cover that too. Why not

If you put epoxy primer on before the paint it will reduce the chips
by more than 90%. Most body shops don't use it, but since I started
doing all the bumpers I paint with it I've seen a huge difference in
less road rash.
