Question What are these parts called?

First I want to know what these two parts are called if they even have an official name. In the first picture I'm referring to the black part that is all scratched up. And the second picture, the grey part with the torn "Z".

I want to take off the handle part and sand is down and maybe repaint it black but I cant figure out how to get the damn thing off. And the Z I'm trying to do the same.

I have an 06 350z BTW. Thanks in advance!

Door handle cover and rear strut cover.

For the door handle, pull the handle open and use a small flathead and carefully remove the piece behind it. Once you remove it you should see a screw behind it that holds the cover in place. Be careful not to let it drop in the door or else you will be taking apart the whole door.

On the rear strut cover, you need to pop off the surrounding plastics to remove the silver part. First remove the pieces on the left and right, then front and back.

If you search you will find detailed instructions. Good luck.

The plastic piece on the door handle assembly is very easy to take out. Like squalz stated, just pull the handle and use a screwdriver to pop that plastic out.

Awesome! Thank you so much. I'll give it a try when I get home from the office. I'll post pictures after I have them repainted later this week.

The sub sounds great but I kind of regret putting it there. If I ever need to get to the spare I'm in trouble. Just getting to the jack and other tools is difficult in itself. Amp is mounted in the glove behind the passenger.

For the door handle cover, I did everything you said and the cover still didn't budge. So I looked up "scratched door handle cover", now that I know what its called , and all the other posts said you have to remove the door panel to get to it. That little black cap under the handle was easy to remove but that's not what I was talking about, I meant the piece that is all scratched up.

I did get the back strut cover thing off and repaint and it looks great!

Dakota,
Any luck and details on how to remove the scratched plastic finisher around the inside door latch handle? I have a 2006 Roadster and need to both of mine. I could not find the part in the diagram 809 at Courtesy Parts.
Thanks

you would only have to take off the door panel if you are wanting to do the part around the ac vent. the finisher just pops right out

remove the door panel
it may make it easier for you to then get out the assembly

Mine is the same way.

And to get that piece out to paint it I'm pretty sure you have to pull the door panel. That's easy to do though.
