Default Windshield Trim???

Looking for the little rubber strip that runs down the outside of the vehicle's A pillar and sits on the windshield. It is starting to get a bit worn out on my car I need another one! Does anyone where to get or even what it is called?

Thanks

Go to your local Nissan dealer and ask for Z33 windshield weatherstripping.

Isnt that part of the a pillar? I thought I read a thread about that and guys were just using black silicone because they didn't want to dish out the $400.

Yes. It is part of the A pillar cover trim. That is what my glass guy and the dealership are telling me. Which is why I'm poking around here and hoping that, reviving this old thread will yield an answer.

This is roadster.

There is a small piece of black rubber at the top and bottom corners of the windshield/A pillar junction on each side, with a vertical, thin strip of black vinyl? along the side of the windshield glass between them. The small pieces have disinigrated due to sunlight/age.

I am getting my windshield replaced and wanted to renew those small rubber pieces. It seems they are part and parcel of a single "finisher" piece that is the A-pillar covering. It comes left and right pre-painted. The dealer is showing me part numbers: 76836-CE422 and 76836-CD422 at a cost of $296 each! And is saying my glass guy will need a fastener and a moulding for the top of the windshield for another $29.35 and $40.20 respectively.

WTF?

Even with the 20% discount from MSRP that I can get this in $496 worth of parts without the windshield and the install cost. Plus, we all know that the pre-painted A pillar covers will never match a 10 year old factory paint job.

(sorry these are sideways - I saved them in normal view I swear )

There must be some workaround. Anyone know of one?

Helping you bring the thread back from the dead: I am getting my windshield replaced (again) and was hoping to fix this too. However, I don't want to buy a new finisher just for the small piece of soft rubber. I'm hoping to strip that off and replace it with a custom piece of EPDM or something. IDK. I need to remove it and check it out first. I may bring the car to Safelite without them installed so I have time to play around with them.
