Default If my front pillars are faded

Do I need to buy new ones to get them painted? The pillars on my Z are plastic too, are you alls pillars plastic as well? I'm not sure if you can sand plastic and paint them so this is why I'm asking.

A pic would help, but I don't know how you'll match the adjacent panels with brand new paint.
You can paint almost anything with prep and the right technique.

You could also do a flat black matte vinyl wrap.

I don't know what that is. I just want my car a different color. I haven't taken it to the body shop yet so I don't know. I'm sure they will tell me if I need new pillars or not.

I would never ever change colors, but I'm super picky. Engine bay, door jambs and inside trunk being diff color would make me batty.
You could call a couple of shops and ask...

I still don't know what color I want or to keep it the same. Its San Marino blue right now but Im thinking white so this clear coat peeling doesnt happen again. I live in South Florida so the sun gets very hot here.

Love my mag black, but it's PITA to take care of. Really love the Mustang Baby Blue.

If I was changing my color I would go Solar Yellow or the baby blue.

You won't need new pillars. They can be sanded and painted with the rest of the car - or you can do a vinyl wrap like other posters have said.

If you go to sell that car after a quickie color change paint job, you can take 50% of its value. SMB is one of the most rare and desired colors on the later cars, and it will last just as long as any other color if you take regular care of it. I looked for over a year to find an SMB car when I bought my '08 and just couldn't find one for sale.

Aside from vinyl wrap, another solution is to just use plastidip. Inexpensive and no special prep is needed.
