Default Rewiring lighting?

Hey all

I had an idea to rewire the lighting so once the key is pulled out of the (ignition?) whatever it's called, all the lights on the exterior turn on for say 20 seconds.

A lot of newer cars do this and it makes it really nice when you're getting out at night or when you want to look back at her while walking away.

I don't know too much about electrical work but do you guys think this is do-able without having to reinvent the wheel?

Or you can simply leave the switch in the on position, they will auto-off in about 5 minutes. Pretty helpful if you're in an unfamiliar place.

Not to hijack but a related question....is there a way to make the interior light go off and on via an auto-dimmer function? New cars will ease the light level up and ease it down gradually, which is a much classier and more practical way to provide light. Sometimes at night the blast of light from the interior dome is too much....a gradual fade from dark to bright is much nicer.

Is there a way to add that function as well?

Good question, I have not seen a solution to that. Perhaps it's available on the Infinity line.
