The last guy who was running a -15 wheel thought he needed flares so after all his work he needed to run a 50mm spacer on his wheels to fill the flare... im sure his wheel bearings are happy.

50mm spacers? What the hell was he thinking?

Z1 says "Expands fender width by approximately 8mm, but can fit up to 10mm increase" which is almost exactly what I need. I'm not totally sure what "but can fit up to 10mm increase" means though.

The tire shop moved my camber in more positive when I got it aligned. Now it looks a little worse than it did when I first mounted them.

large wheel vs using a large spacer, the moment location for sheer force is the same. bearings affected the same either way.

Every Bensopra gtr u see uses a normal sized wheel and tire (10.5) and 50 to 60mm spacers during use. things have their use and benefits, things all have a trade off somewhere.

btw, you can also use windshield urethane to mount your flares.. id never smooth them in , mold and paint over them though.. its just not realistic.. w urethane you can at least run a wire under them and remove them.. albeit a messy clean up.

Yeah this is how that flare story ended up.

I'm surprised you are having any trouble with a +22 wheel.

Brian uses a 19x14 with a -70 offset and it fits nice and flush with only minor fender modifications

Stardast is a little too much for me. I'd like to look fairly stock, just larger fenders.

Maybe all I need is a bit more negative camber. Found this guy running 19x10.5 et 22 295/35. That's essentially the same width as my 18x10 et 22 295/35. Looks pretty flush and clean to me.

OK, I gotta say it..... using negative camber just to "fit" wide tires defeats the whole purpose of running that much rubber (unless just for aesthetics... in which case, disregard the rest of this).

Sure, minusing camber has it's place in the performance handling scheme of things but doing so for fit, at the expense of steering response and changing the steering attitude of the car makes little/no sense to me.

But if you feel you have to do this to "make it right to the eye", make sure all of your other alignment settings are dialed in to compensate for the toe and caster changes else the car will LOOK great but drive like caca.

Guess if you've invested in adjustable FUCAs and C-arms/bolts, might as well use 'em.

I'm definitely not going to ruin the driveability of my car just to get my tires to fit. When the shop did my alignment, they handed me a sheet with the settings they dialed in and the preferred range for the Z. They went more towards the positive end of the spectrum rather than the negative. Even the guy that rolled my rear fenders told me that they should have dialed me in more negative. If I can dial in more negative camber w/o decreased performance, I will. But if it gets to the point where my car drives like a killer mustang, then I'll get some subtle fender flares. And I just realized that the car in the link below may be running the same offset as me, but his front tires are 20mm narrower than mine.

They say front or rear... Adjusting the front camber should pull it in though.
I confirmed with Z1 that these flares are only for the rear. Lame.

I think those rear over sized rear fenders are closest to stock look if you mold them
