Default Use your thumb or paint program to cover your plate for online pics?

So do most of the pics you upload online look like this or have your finger sticking up in them to cover your plate?

A guy in a facebook group I'm in came up with a cool little idea for people who like to take pics and videos of their car.

So basically it's like a fitted sheet that covers your license plate. He has a lot of designs, but the cool thing is you can make your own. I asked about if it would cover a plate bracket or the transparent covers and he said yes. I asked for a black and yellow version of the one above so he made me this.

He has special pricing and free shipping through Friday, just thought I'd share. The one above I'm getting for $20.

Definately not for everyone, but I could see some people really liking it. One suggestion for custom ones I saw was to put a social media account name on there like Instagram or twitter.
I got one because I'm thinking it will look better than a Paint black out if you're trying to take nice pics of your car.

you could get a piece of plastic ... have a sticker made of whatever you want on it... glue some magnets to it ... done. almost same thing

But that's like, extra work and stuff. And you would probably have at least $10-15 in cost if you have to have a sticker made and get magnets, then find a piece of plastic, thinking it wouldn't look as good either. One selling point for me was that because it's cloth, I can just throw it in anywhere and pull it out if I want to take a quick pic. That and the potential unique cool factor.

Mine will ship out tomorrow. Probably won't receive it before his sale ends, but will post up pics and give a review.

I agree with Craig.

Why bother? If I am car shopping and someone has their finger in the picture or something to cover the plate I'll just close it and move to the next one.

So I got mine in the mail today and tried it out. I suggested a few improvements to him which he said he would pursue. I can see why others have said these are pointless, but I think the cover looks better than your plate when you are trying to take nice pics of your car. Could also be cool to use at autocrosses.

Also, I sent him a stock picture of a yellow 35th Anniversary and asked to him to try to color match the yellow, think he did a pretty good job.
