Looks great dark! What's the red thing mounted under/in front of the GPS screen?

Just a plastic panel I made since the nav is a Garmin there is no need for the redicously priced stock controls.

I don't recall how much time the whole thing took but he had a core ready to be shipped out so I think it was less than a month for me to get it. The seats are Recaro sportster CS "performance edition" not easily attainable in the states as they were a euro only seat. At the time I bought them there were only 7 sets confirmed in the US lol.

Recaro Sportsters are already pretty pricey as it is. Can't imagine how much a special edition would cost. Must have put a hurting on the wallet lol.

Yes lol, but it's my first and last project car (serious one anyway) and the seats they come with are crap.

VQ-Vortex just pMed me today about getting mine shipped on Monday. it's exactly 6 weeks now, if it gets here next week will be week 7th. I am a little bumped about it cause my steering wrap is worn out and it looks like ****..the only thing looking bad in my car right now.

These are great looking steering wheels. Anyone here have any issues or problems to report? I want to get one but the endless rpm site says for show purposes only and the vortex one doesn’t say anything at all. I figure they r just covering their backsides. It’s important to me to keep the air bags so these are appealing but I also want to make sure they are safe and function as well as factory wheel. I love my z but one of my issues has always been that the steering wheel was so skinny that it didn’t fit feel great. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Swede/DarkZ03 - thanks for the quick replies. I am glad you guys are enjoying your steering wheels. i am considering getting one myself but a little hesitant due to safety. I just want to make sure the airbag features work as intended from the factory wheel. Thanks again.

Long as you or your technician secure the air bag and hook the wires up correctly, it will function the same. They do not mess with the structure of the wheel. Only the cosmetic exterior. Soon as i can save up fund am planning on getting myself one.

Yeah, I've seen how these are made and from a safety perspective they are fine, I'm a mechanic and did all the work myself. Although I haven't gone out to test it out I'm sure the air bag works as intended lol.

Its really just a reupholstered oem wheel. All the safety and functionality is like oem. All the wiring is left intact in your car and you re use your own oem airbag so in essence all youre doing is unplugging and then plugging in your airbag again.

But for the love of Z disconnect your battery and ground out any residual voltage before touching the airbag. Dont want that thing to go off in your hands!
