Default Carbon Fiber Trunk Road Noise Level

Hey Guys,

I know this has been covered in another thread but after searching I could not get a definite answer so I am hoping someone can chime in real quick. I'm looking into getting a Carbon Fiber Trunk soon and was wondering for those of you who have them if you had noticed any significant/excess increase in noise in the cabin of your car. If so, what did you use to deaden some of the sound? Thanks in advance!

It's not the material you use (i.e., Carbon Fiber) that controls sound intrusion, but rather it is the sound deadening and the panel fitment that control noise entering the cabin.

If your new Carbon Fiber Trunk liner fits perfectly with no gaps anywhere, you will get a significant "muffling."

Ummmmm little odd if your worried about road noise. My car has lots of noise in the cabin. The bigger problem is getting it to fit right, getting the glass or lexan leak free... The struts that you can or can't use anymore.

But really I dont think the noise level will be noticeable vs the oem piece.

your tire choice will affect noise far more than a hatch will.
cf hatch isn't a big problem.

Good to know. I knew tire size and suspension plays a significant role in noise level but didn't know the affect a large CF piece would have like a hatch. I know CF is tough and light but as far as noise transfer I had no idea.

If you are installing OEM glass and seals, you won't notice a difference.

I use no struts, and use silicone to try and fix leaks
