I would take a look at the fogs that you like that fit in the bumper opening and look at how they mount. You’ll likely have to epoxy some mounting brackets to mate to the mounts on your chosen fog lamp.

Some aluminum straps bent to shape should do the trick for mounting brackets.

Personally I'd go with clear lenses- daytime running lights. How often do you drive in fog?...

You will definitely need to fab a stiff bracket to mount the lights on the steel substructure somewhere behind the bumper. Anything less will be useless and annoyance to oncoming traffic due to vibration and misalignment.

Glue them right to the bumper hole which is probably what I would do in a pinch.
Though ideally make a custom/simple bracket that will put them right at the holes.

Negative. Plenty of factory fog lamps cars have them mounted to the bumper cover via some sort of plastic mount bracket. If the bumper cover is attached like it should be, there will be nothing wrong with the light mounted to it.

OK.

I see so many people running their aux lights (for no reason on the streets) and the misalignment glare/vibration just annoys me. (And yeah, I did that when I was younger. Hhahahahaha) But my two cars with factory aux lights sticking through the bumper are both solidly mounted to the bumper subframe on steel brackets.

I have made custom fogs for my SC300 way back in the days. If your bumper is made of fiberglass frp you can use epoxy or JBweld. I would check with the retrofit crowd (hidplanet etc) to see what they use to glue and mount custom lights. Tons of info on how to and exactly what to do. You'll have to do some research. There were a few custom fogs from a few members who bought custom jdm aftermarket bumpers and filled in holes with fogs. Those will probably take a bit of effort to find.

If its ABS, polyurethane then - I had to make custom mounts to fit LED DRLs on my oem front bumper, takes a bit of thinking and creativity to mount and make them adjustable. I used: aluminum stock, 3m double tape, nuts, bolts.
These are Philips DayLight 4 Gen2.

Not sure if they will fit into the holes on your bumper but I am running Piaa DR305 on my Evo X.

Mich, get with the times, LED DRL lights at least the E4 and DOT approved ones (ie Philips, Sylvania, Osram etc) using their properly designed respective housing (not retrofitted) do not emit as much glare if any at all. When mounted correctly, should have less glare than halogen.

Okie dokie.

Yer right, have zero interest in LED retrofits or aux lights/appearance upgrades so have never paid any attention. I probably (however wrongly) associate them with useless cosmetics and/or are on the list of “things I have no use for” where I drive.

Increased lumen output, cleaner cutoff, that kinda stuff, yes. DRL, switchbacks, demons, angels, not s’much.

Old guy, old school, get off my damm lawn! 🤣

I tease yet I'm no whipper snapper myself anymore. Getting to the point where I'm wanting a higher ride height, more plush seats, with less emphasis on cornering and handling.
