Default Convertible Top Tearing (Inside Rear Window) PLEASE HELP!

Convertible Top Tearing (Inside Rear Window) Please Help Me!

I purchased w/t payment from dealer As Is
i didn’t notice duct tape on the “Metal”
It looks as if something tore into top
this issue wasn’t here, getting bad

My guess =
cover any exposed metal in duct tape
and use Super Glue to seal back “Flap”

any suggestions greatly appreciated
ive searched the forum and haven't
found anyone having issue in same
area that I am experiencing now

Welcome. As a fellow ZR owner I feel your pain.
After a few years my original top started tearing on the sides. I didn't want to use black duct tape so I explored options. I decided to buy black 50# nylon fishing line and I actually hand sewed the tears closed. It worked great for about 3 days, then new tears started right next to the reair.
Your tear is more vertical and in a less stress area. Your best options are sewing and hoping or using black duct tape (like Gorilla brand).

The good news-
For $650 you can get a brand new good fitting canvas replacement from Topsonline.com . It comes with excellent instructions. It's tedious but doable. I think mine took 9 hours with no helper. You'll need a drill, a rivet gun and rivets.

Long answer but there's not a great solution to top tears. Gl!
