Default Jammed Cup Holder

The passenger side cup holder in the dash is jammed and only come out about an inch on my 2004. It doesn't protrude enough to get to the release clip. How do I get it fully extruded so I can remove it and either fix or replace it.

Thanks
Lee

Welcome. The origami style cup holder must be stuck. Have you tried lubricating it with some WD40 and a straw applicator to direct the spray? There's no easy way to get to it other than the cupholder opening.

Also try a butter knife to press down from top.

Default Update

I was able to get the assembly removed. Once out it works great. Opens and closes fine. When I put it back it the dash, it jams again. Read somewhere that the eject spring may be the problem ??? Any thoughts.

Mb get 1 from a salvage yard. This isn't a project that should take much time or $$$ thankfully!

Unless you need it I would suggest you get a hold of that dash panel out of a 2007 with nothing there. Other old ones can't be trusted and the new ones will probably be too much if it could be bought still
