Need assist with adding DRL's to '03 350z
Ok, I saw your eyes roll at another DRL thread, but I have a somewhat unique issue.
I have an '03 Touring.
I ordered the iJDM kit for my '03 and the first step is "compare the mounting to the current reflector" and it's not even close. Further research leads me to believe that maybe I have an '06 front bumper? But.. everything fits properly underneath.
The kicker is I don't have the "original" reflectors. The previous owner put the ones that are just a line of LED's and they were blue at that on a switch inside. I disconnected that nonsense,
Is there someone that can identify if my front bumper cover is truly stock and if it's actually an '03. I have read the descriptions and I can't tell definitively either way.

Does anyone know a nice clean drl solution that looks more like the 06+ solutions? Basically I wanted a switchback led set for the reflectors, but ones that look stock, not mounted on the outside.
What did they use on the Canada models? They would have had to have DRL from the factory.

The IJDMtoy setup is prolly the best plug and play atm, as noted it's specd for 06 up, but if it fits go for it. I did my own DRLs and switchbacks years ago by buying clear JDM front lenses, baking them and installing clear leds and amber turn leds tapped to turns. It gets the job done but not OEM look you're asking for.
The research I did a few months ago on Canadian retrofits yielded next to nothing on companies still producing DRLs for the 350 because of the age (the newest one is 11 years old).

I believe the standard solution for converting to DRL, for example converting to a canada car, is to wire the lower parking light bulb to come on with ignition. You can actually do this fairly easily yourself if you know a little about basic wiring, and the wiper motor at the front of the car has a convenient hot lead with acc perfect for triggering a relay.
From what I can see, you definitely have the 03-05 bumper and those do look like the 03-05 ijdm drls... take a look at this pic, they don't really install "flush" on the 03-05...
In fact looking at the pictures more, there should be a separate mount that takes the place of the old reflector, should mount up from the back of the bumper and then it appears that the light itself is affixed to that mounting plate, but I am purely just going off what I can see in the pics from their website...

You could also run a voltage sensitive auto on/off relay to the DRL. It will cap it at 13v to protect the leds. You can find those on ebay and amazon.
