Default Stillen Series 2 Front Fascia VS NISMO V3 350Z Front Fascia

Hey,

I hit some road junk the other day on the freeway and the front fascia of my 2005 350z took some damage. That made me think, it's time to perhaps upgrade the look a little.

I noticed that the Stillen Series 2 Front Fascia and Nismo V3 350Z Front Fascia might be two good options that I thought didn't look too strange and wouldn't need customization to install correctly.

I also noticed that the Nismo V3 is a bit more expensive and requires a Nismo Front Extension.

I'm curious, has anyone else in the forum installed either or looked at both? If so, what did you think of the process, the look, and any advice you might provide?

It seems that people and videos online talk more about the Nismo V3 than the Stillen Series 2. I'm guessing that a more "Nissan" part is just more popular and that people have wanted to sup up their Zs to be more Nismo-like.

Thanks.

Just go with V3. You’ll thank yourself for this choice later)))
Stillen makes good quality and design, but stylewise OEM parts are ageing way better.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I'm checking if I can get it local vs having to order online and deal with shipping.

Had both. One on my Niz, the other (Stillen v.2) for my '03 (but sold it). I like both, V3 a tad bit more.

But here's the thing... my preference for the V3 is presuming its with full Nismo body (or at least some fairly large rear aero) to balance the aerodynamics (and look). I wouldn't put a V3 front end on my otherwise stock Z. Kinda feels out of balance. But again, that's just me. In the end, it really just comes down to personal choice.

That's interesting advice @MicVelo , I have a pretty stock '05. I like the clean lines of the Z w/o a rear spoiler.

So curious, is your thinking there b/c the Nismo protrudes a bit more in the front?

The V3 is lower/longer than OEM without the rest of the kit it won't look right. I actually hate/look down on Zs with the Nismo bumper and not the rest of the kit tho. Kind of a poser thing if it ain't a Nismo, like others out there say, it's Fismo (fake Nismo). That being said I've had some Stillen stuff and the fitment is always great, the front bumper IIRC is stock height and it has the scoops for brake ducts.

No - The 350Z Nismo aerodynamic effect is real. Front aero without accompanying rear downforce leads to messy high speed handling.

Function, not form.

But it also LOOKS imbalanced if only adding it for looks. And if that's the case, again, personal preference.

So I bought the Stillen fascia. The body shop test fitted it and there is a big gap near the passenger side headlight. I talked to Stillen and they said that this is normal for the 350z. I'm a bit disappointed. Did anyone else experience this?

I would go check out the fitment in person, especially if its polyurethane since its flexible and much more forgiving with fitment. Its in the best interest of the body shop if it isn't an "easy fit."
