Here is a Sparco lockcap that replaces the gas cap door. Would you put it on your Z?

Is it large enough to cover the stock fuel door opening? Also the stock door is not flat so this would take some massaging to get it to work with the fender contour. Besides that, no.

hmmm id have to see it on a Z to make a decision, Ive seen some "motorcycle style" gas caps that look great and some that look like rice trash, would be a nice solution to the problem some of us are having poping our gas cap tho'

Probably not.

Without a profile shot, I'm guessing it's a flat piece. I don't think it would look good or flow with our curved fender

I dont care if it were formed to fit. the mustangs and eclipses can keep em. the gas cap door is not a visual peice, and I have no plans to make it one.

I saw it on another site that is selling it for the Z so it must conform to the shape. It also comes in a brushed finish.

I would like to see it on a car too. I don't think I would purchase it either but thought it would be a good topic since I know many people don't like the existing cheap door.

I wonder how it would go over if it were painted?

It would detract from the smooth look of lines going towards the rear. Plus, it MIGHT fit a theme if other things on the Z were chromed like the door handles. I don't see much in the way of sales for this item.

You could always get some stickers that look like the Sparco gas lid... they sell'em on eBay.
