Does this look familiar to anybody? I found it sitting on the floor behind the driver's seat of my '07 350Z. It looks like it broke off of something but I can't find anything obviously missing a part. It almost looks like some sort of counterweight as if it were to tilt with a sudden stop and lock the seat belt(?) - that's a wild guess. Hell, maybe I just dropped it there but I sure can't recall anything. (please don't tell me it's a nickel, haha)

It definitely looks broken. Might wanna take a pic perpendicular to the barrel and see if you can Google image match. My 1st question would be does everything work correctly?

That's definitely it. I replaced a broken handle last year and that piece matches what's in your pic. When I replaced window motor few mo's ago, I guess I saw it inside of door and tossed it behind back seat.
