Default yellow LED sidemarkers, lisence plate lights, and luxeon markers

first we have the back lisence plate light. note: no headlights are on in this photo. the light projected on the wall infront of the car is from the parking light bulbs.

next a member wanted their sidemarkers to match the headlight amber more accurately. did some investigating and noticed "amber" 5mm LEDs are well above the color of amber and near to red. oddly "yellow" is perfectly amber, luxeons dont fall into this as their amber is rated at the same as a 5mm yellow; 590nm wavelength.

so here that is, "yellow" 5mm LEDs in stock amber reflector.

lastly, a new shot of the 7luxeon LEDs. I tried and I tried to make it accurate. it doesnt happen, tried ever exposure from 80-400 by 20. in person, there is VERY little sign of points.

compared it directly to a set with 32 5mm white LEDs. the 5mm were brighter to look at. but the points of light were countable from 30 feet. webiteks is getting both sets though, so we will finally have a independent review of 5mm vs luxeon.

I am going with a custom setup of 5 white luxeons evenly spaced (not behind the indentations) in clear sidemarkers. I will be sure to post tons of pics when I get them.

for the luxeons if you want that effect you want amber.

I know thats confusing. but luxeon amber = 5mm yellow. I dont ask questions .

Man... that's overkill! ahahah...

Hey Brian, I don't have time to mess with my car because of programming classes.

Do you have a spare brake light housing? I'd like to see what goes in there. It contains a 194 parknig light, right? The best I can do for that is install a red side emitting Luxeon. I'm not sure what the point doing this is yet.

I had, and yes, it contains a 194. I think thats a single state bulb... and of course the larger bulb as well. I think Im at the same point as you. Im about to make a 7443 bulb because a few G35 owners were interested, but trying to decide if that could be directly transfered to the tail light... I use all high domes, too bad they dont point the bulbs backwords.
