Stock is 4300k. If you drive a lot at night, 6000k is probably the highest I would go. You start to lose a lot of light output after 6k.

I think I am going to go with 6k. What color temp do most cars with HID bulbs come with? I need a D2R bulb, correct? Rock on.

Hello, yes ours Z uses D2R in the lo beam. OEM temp is 4,300k. You get most light from a 5000k bulb, but most people search for a little blue and this is the 6000k. Is more elegant than the 5000k. Thanks, www.sagahid.com If need support on translate contact me personally. My Best!

What year is your Z?
I have 08 and mine is D2S.

use this site to find the bulb type

http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...lacementGuide/

I got these for about 6 months now without any issue. Looks great.
Ebay 6000K

If you like, you can get Philips bulbs (the best out there).

03-05 OEM HID (Pro-flectors) - D2R bulbs
06-08 OEM HID (Projectors) - D2S bulbs

Major difference between the two bulbs is the shading on the bulb. Both work on either headlights though..

seriously if you want better light output change to 06+ headlights first...

Default Phillips Vs other company

I checked out Phillips and the kits come with ballists. The demo video showed them doing a conversion from a halogen to a hid system.

No aftermarket ballists are needed for the 350z are there?

I was under the impression that since we already had HID's no other parts but bulbs would be needed but when going thru the phillips car selection process it has the kit?

Also how much are the bulbs seeing that two pair will be needed for both high and low beams.

Phillips has a single pair priced at 270.

If you have HID's from factory then you do not need a/m ballasts. Only if you are upgrading to a 55W then you need a complete kit (ballast & bulbs).

Vendors here and else where sell bulbs only for around $40~60 for both.

I love how ppl are just like buy the 06 lights first? I mean not many ppl just have that much money to blow on new lights when your's aren't broken......

Who wouldn't want new 06's on their Z's i mean that's a no brainer but to say things like that are strange to me. I can't afford 1800.00 lights but can afford $50.00 hid bulbs for an upgrade,? does that make me a loser or something?

Change bulbs only if you already have HID on the car. You wont loose anything. For hi beam, if desired, you will need the entire kit. www.sagahid.com

haha didn't mean to offend anyone, i know its easier said and done but you don't need to spend $1800 from the stealership. There is a great amount of headlights in our classifieds and i'm sure there are junkyards out there who carry them.

I bought used 06 headlights for $500 here and even found a complete set of brembos from a local junk yard for $400~!!!!
