Default Installed! "Ground Effector" a unique underfloor spoiler that increases downforce

Have you heard of this mod?

http://www.daytona.kbs.co.jp/dcuatro...fector/ge1.htm
http://www.daytona.kbs.co.jp/dcuatro...r/ge1kouka.htm
http://www.daytona.kbs.co.jp/dcuatro/

An item of only 15,000 yen installed underfloor, it really did increase stability and down force. 100% street legal.
I was able to feel the change from only 60 km/h.
And best of all, you cannot tell that this item is installed (unless you really look under, or lift up the car).

I strongly recommend this to all Z car owners. Cool item.

Can you take a pix of it on your car? Hard to see it on their site.

The spoiler is really thin, probably 3 or 4 cm thick.
So technically speaking it should not hit the speed bumps.
(the spoiler will not be the lowest part of the chassis)

Sorry I cannot take the photos cause it is located in the bottom of the car (I have to lift it up).
But from the website photos you can imagine how the mod will function.

i would assume getting some more high speed stabilty.. i didn't like how my z handled at high speed in stock configuration.. added the TS front diffuser and that made a huge impact in the front.. the rear is still a bit loose but not enough to warrant a big wing..

Yes there were some articles bout this mod before, but they've relased this kit for Z car only on March.

After this mod I haven't gone that fast yet, but since I can feel the difference at a speed as low as 70 kmh, there should be a significant change at 160 kmh ...

when you get the time to go a bit faster please share.. I'm more interested now since I removed the stock muffler with its read diffuser and put in the JIC single, leaving me with less than ideal aerodynamics in the rear

alos how hard was the installation?

How much in US? Also, it looks like something I could make. Got any pics off the car and what material is that?

Make it out of a piece of sheet metal, some angle aluminum, and a couple of rivets for a grand total of 5 bucks at Home Depot.

there's a couple of reasons why its not that great of an idea for our z.

we already have two centerline channels under the car that have the low pressure zone directly under the cabin for the air flow to go. if you put this and try to deflect the air to the sides, its still going to wrap around it and you'll be messing up the air flow that was already relatively smooth from the front end of the car. (due to the front underbody panels)

what would benefit more would be a complete flat underbody, or at least cover up the fuel lines or some of the exhaust pieces and have flat straight pieces so that it would smooth the air flow. air flow in general is already pretty messy under neath the car. you get side vortices wrapping around the side skirts, your wheels spinning, and your rear bumper...

no need to mess it up more.. besides you want the air to go UP not down.. up air flow will create a low pressure zone, sucking your car down.... diverting the air down toward the ground will do the opposite, not so good.

You can feel the difference at a full 45-50mph? LOL. It's all psychological, as there is not going to be any difference in "feel" unless you have superhuman capabilities, especially on a car with an underside design like ours. Oh, and did I mention that my K&N filter gave me 40hp?

Yeah... that picture on japanese site is really nice... if you use to buy everything anybody shows you...

That low pressure area right of that "spoiler".... theoretically effect will be totall compensated by high pressure area where air goes To create low-pressure, you need to get rid of the air before it goes under your car...

As for flat underbody panel... enybody tried to do it? I saw nice rolls of very light **** aluminum in HD. it was about 16 to 20" wide and probably 6' long or sow. could cover that central tunnel nicely from front panel and till the rear muffler.

If you were to do a flat underbody panel, you'd need to install a nice oil, tranny, and diff cooler.

Exactly right. You'd probably want to wrap your exhaust as well.
