Help...removing overlays?
Does anyone know how to remove the overlays on the headlights effectively and without scratching the plastic? I tried to use a razor blade but stopped when I scratched the headlight a little. Is there any chemical that will dissolve the vinyl overlay without hurting the plastic housing?
well use hair dryer to warm it up as much as you can so that it wouldnt leave any glue behind, then just use your finger and slowly once at a time peeling it. and if it still leaves some glue left, go get the 3M's adhesive&wax remover from PepBoys.
Let the car sit in the sun for awhile to soften the vinyl. Take a needle and lift one end, and slowly peel. Ort use a hair dryer to heat it up. I've never had any problems with alot of residue left behind. The key is to peel it very slowly so the residue stays on the vinyl. Any residue left use adhesive remover, citrus based.
