Default Veilside V1 lip quesion

Has anyone "shaved" the Veilside logo before painting? I got the p/u one and was wondering if it would look better without it.

You know I was thinking of doing that cuz I hate being a brand *****. If I had a choice to do it again i'd probably shave it off just to be different...but that symbol there is so discrete that it's probably not worth shaving off at all.

When your lip is installed and painted you don't really see it unless you stop to look at it. Veilside is a quality name so some may be hesitant to take it off...like taking off the pointed arrows on a benz. If it's not a big deal during prep work then I'm sure it'll look clean if you decide to take it off.

Easy to do then do it....but if you can't...no big deal.

I paid $150 to get it done.............just be sure to tell them not to bake it. My V1 urethane lip shrunk up major big time.

Thanks for the input guys, was worried because the letters are raised that the paint might not be able to get between them. That was my main concern.

EddieJr, was that your thread about the melted lip? Bummer. Will try to ask about not baking.

A friend of mine has a body shop and they have done many body kits, will post pics and prices when done.

Yeah, that was mine, the shop screwed it up major. Already had prefitted it on the car to be sure the lip didn't need some adjusting it fit perfect. The second lip did not fit as well. I suggest you do a pre-paint mock up, just to be safe.

I totally agree with Eddie....mock up the lip before bringing it in. And don't even LET the shop bake your brownies! The shop I went to kept mines for 4 days to let it cure right. 150 is about how much I spent for mines.

Good luck!
