Seibon TS Style Hood *Pics* - anyone have in stock ?
Does anyone know if the TS hood has fitment issues?? I can't buy this if it's going to give me problems
Two biggest issues with fit (at least for me)...
1 - Will not close fully with battery and brake fluid covers in place. These must be removed to close the hood.
2 - Will not close with the Crawford strut bar. I presume it closes with the stock one, though I did not try because I have the Crawford plenum which requires removing the stock strut bar and optionally adding the Crawford strut bar.
We're currently working on some solutions to address my specific fitment issues, but on a stock set up the only one you should have are the covers.
I don't know if I like the idea of having my battery / power steering covers off becuase when it rains, I could take some beating by getting water in those compartments due to the placement of the vents on the TS hood. Especially in my power steering fluid compartment, becuase I have alot of wires for my aftermarket alarm in there.
Is there any possible way to make it fit with these covers on? Maybe I should wait for a good fitting hood to release before I get one

Webiteks, do not worry about fitment. I can assure you it will fit 99.9% perfectly. $750.00 is a great deal, and if you look now, Z1 made a thread about his hood and how fitment is pretty close to perfect.
My suggestion, buy now, stand out for the few months these hoods are stop produced..

You're going to guarentee that I can get the hood, take it out of the box, and bolt it on directly to my car without any issues what so ever?
What IF there is an issue?

Their wont be an issue because it was test fitted, we take extra steps before getting in trouble

Mine will close properly, but only if I leave the vent covers that come with the hood off AND only if I remove both the battery and brake fluid covers at the rear of the engine bay. The body shop had 3 guys and me working for almost 2 hours trying to get the alignment right and the hood to seat properly when closed. After all that time, we were able to correct everything except the Battery/Brake Fluid cover issues.
I hope you have an answer, because I have bought the TS hood and have already had it painted to match and will be paying a little more to have it custom fit unless you have some secret info that we can use to get it to work.
I don't drive my Z daily (or in bad weather), so the open vents with the battery/brake fluid covers off doesn't bother me.
I'm not trying to discourage anyone who really wants this hood, but you will likely have some fitment obstacles to work with... why do you think Seibon has suspended production on these considering the apparent demand for the hoods?

Their is no secret? I have the TS hood on my personal car no problems, you have all seen pics. Also when did you buy your hood? I believe 2 batches were made you could of got a bad batch? Their are many people here and not here that bought from us and had NO PROBLEMS! I think its if you got the bad apple out of the bunch?
Again, I say if there are no problems, then why do you think Seibon has suspended production on these considering the apparent demand for the hoods?
I'm not saying it can't be made to fit or that it even takes a herculean effort to do so. But it is not a straight bolt on replacement for the stock hood. If you get one, expect some extra time to get it to fit and look right.
Hoping to have mine polished to show car finish and on in the next week or two. I'll take pics to share with all.

Wicked - not to be rude, but you eventually will eat your words on this one...the hoods, simply fit, do not all fit the same. There were not 2 batches, there were 1. In fact, the hood I have on my car was among the first shipped out to anyone in the states, and mine simply did not fit.
Mcduck got his hood from us (es we are an authorized dealer and I have known Sean for years now). His did not fit either.
On my car, it did fit with the battery cover and clutch master covers in place. Did not fit with the rain gaurds and did not latch all the way. So far we have about 4.5 hours into fitting it, and now it fits well enough that its staying on my car. But to say it fits out of the box is far from the truth IMHO

Without the rain protectors the hood will fit without any modifications. Remember that I helped release this hood in SEMA and I was the 1st Z with this hood. However the grill (that one on the pic uder the hood) will hit the battery cover and might leave some minor scratches. I dunno about the 2 batches but mine took 5 minutes to install no problem. Regarding how it will not fit if you have goodies under the car... heres a pic of what actually fits underneath.

BBBT... How do you get your hood to stay so rigid when opened? I noticed mine tends to "droop" a bit on the driver side. We were looking into dual hood supports, but if there is another way, I'd like to try it.
My car is 100% stock underneath - stock strut brace, stock everything else.
Mine did not come close to latching when we first installed it - mine also was about 2thumbnails too "short" from the trailing edge of the bumper.
Like Andy and many others (see my post asking about this hood in this forum - lots of us had problems), we all had to slot the drivers side holes of the factory hood bracket (near the windshield), as well as slot the holes for the factory latch in order to get it to fit reasonably well.
Is it impossible? Not at all - is it a bolt on replacement? Same answer - not at all, and people should be aware of that.
.If you want to warranty fitment on it, go ahead, its your dime. As a fellow vendor, I can tell you we are not going to, due to the numerous problems posted by myself and others.
It is still a very nice hood, the weave is very nicely done and the underside of the hood is nicely finished as well.

Hmm... I don't recall seeing a post where Adam calls you a liar Wicked... you are being awful defensive suddenly.
No one ever said your hood doesn't fit, just that most of these Siebon hood don't fit perfectly. The fact that you would claim a no problem install based on your one hood when there are many more accounts of hoods with fitment issues makes me question your business practices.
We are just trying to inform potential buyers. Yes, maybe someone will get a hood that bolts right up no problem. Based on what I've seen reported here it seems more likely they will have fitment issues that will need to be worked with to get the TS to fit properly. Not impossible, just takes a little work to get it just right.
Personally, I'll much sooner buy from a vendor who tells me upfront "hey, there's an issue with the part, but you can work around it" than from someone who claims "No, there is nothing wrong with this part, it fits perfectly" when there are clearly many accounts to the contrary.

I don't thin I am being rude. I have no doubt that YOUR hood fit - was just making a point that not all of them are the case, hence why they are not even being sold anymore right now, and why they are looking into the fitment issues.
I am not calling you a liar at all - read my post more carefully. All I am saying is that not all of the hoods fit the same why, and Seibon is fully aware of this. There is thread that i started with multiple people who all got the TS hood (I cannot comment on the other styles as this is the only one I have seen firsthand.
In our cases, the fitment issues ranged from minor (Dee Zee) to major (mine)
