Default 250.00 to paint a body kit?!?!

I called up a couple places and asked for a ROUGH estimate to paint a lip, skirts and rear bumper skirt...most said 200-300.00. That seems WAY to low...or does that sound right. I'm sure they didnt figure in prepping if the parts need it.

How much did it cost you guys to get kit parts painted?

Well another place just quoted me 500-600 to paint ONLY.....1000-1200 if they have to prep.

Hopefully the ings half lip/rear fit fine, greddy skirts fit fine and the Data Ssytem wing need hardly any prep.

yeah that does seem cheap.

I paid 250 or so for a full paint of a rear bumper, and it was pretty crappy.

That is pretty cheap. A little too cheap if you ask me.

I go to Mr. Spoiler in Manassas Virginia - It's a hike for you, but if you want 100% quality work, give him a call. Let him know Ricky sent you.

He charges about $200 to paint the lip alone, but this is the the paint with pearl in it. If it's non-pearl tristage paint, it's a bit cheaper. This guys work is amazing though. He's Lexus's partner, all damaged Lexus cars in area go to him to get work done, and you know if a Lexus shop trusts him he has to be amazing

should be 500 to paint front bumper with blending of the hood and fenders including the lip

300 to paint both sides and another 4-500 for the rear bumper including blending of the hatch and rear panels

so about 12-1300 just for paint and additional for prep

so they SHOULD blend? I'm thinking how hard could Black be to match. I had a spoiler painted metallic silver by the one guy and it matched my car pretty much perfectly...I coudln't see the diffrence.

actually black doesnt have to be matched...especially since its not a metallic black

if they tell you it doesnt need blending they arent lying

I just got quoted $1300.00 for front & rear under spoilers, skirts and wing. And I'm going to have them do it! I also got quotes at $500.00 but that simply told me those guys didn't know what the hell they were doing. 90% of any paint job is prep and anyone with tallent should be charging around $100.00 per hour. You figure it up, how long would it take to sand 4 or 5 parts?

actually you are incorrect in some aspects...it should be more expensive because anyone who knows how to prep and fit parts properly needs time...but that doesnt mean they have to charge 100 per hour

i was charged 65/hour to block and fill my kit...im picking it up today...ill let everyone know how it turned out..but im sure its perfect

I got quoted 500 but then after they looked at the kit they said 1000 without install. I went to another guy and he said 800 including install for a front and rear bumper and side skirts, Quality is the key. 300 is CHEAP. Make sure its a reputable shop.

I called 3 local body shops and I only mentioned lip, skirts and rear. Price is for paint only...no prep, no install. I asked the guy about how close he is to paint matching...told him it was black and he said it will be no problem. Probably add another 50.00 for the wing.

Hopefully when I test out the parts they'll fit pretty much decent without prep...I doubt it though.
