Default aluminum door protectors?

I was thinking of doing something with the grille, don't really care for what's available, and this seems to me like the way to go. Now someone mentioned something about aluminum door protectors, any idea where I could get those? I looked around today and found nothing. The reason I'm looking for aluminum instead of going with the plastic is that I don't so much care for chrome, personal preference. Thank you for your help.

Dr. Bonz,
From the pic, it looks like it didn't go around the slanted curve. Maybe its my eye, but it sure looks like it ended where you CUT it.

I see what you mean now. No, they don't go around the curve toward the back of the car but they do go to the side edge of the OEM black plastic grill.

Has anyone who has actually done this had any problems with peeling or cracking over time?

Dr. Bonz, from your pic, it looks like you stuck the chrome to the top of each horizontal piece. When I did mine, I stuck them on the side, or the outermost part, and had some difficulty getting them to be perfectly level.

Am I seeing yours right, and how do you think it looks compared, what about you others, are you all sticking it to the top of the horizontal pieces? And what if you did the verts? I've had two of my vertical bits come off in about 2 weeks time... so I think I'll be replacing all of it very soon.

Unless you are really close (like that pic) you can't tell the difference how or where it is stuck on. I didn't do the vertical pieces.

you dont need to use superglue... did you read my post on this... get black Zipties and ziptie the ends of each strip to the edge ot the grill and cut the excess zip off. they arent even visible if you do it right

The brand name for the strips was "Brite Trim" and it comes in either circular or 2 piece strips.

Thanks Csdriven. I will try the tie zips.

If you go to pepboys, they have the longer moldings that are made for truck doors, these work great, also use the zip ties, this is key! Thanks for the advice.
