Default Is there anyway to repair a CF Veilside front lip?

I just acquired a carbon fiber veilside v1 front lip from a friend. He gave it to me because he ran into a parking block and it chipped off / cracked some of the clear coat and separated the cf from the coating around it. It’s right in the middle of the front. I called Veilside and they said they don't do any sort of repairs or anything, but they are setting up a warranty service where they will replace the piece for 50% off. If there's no way to fix it, I guess it’s not that big of a deal. I was thinking if there was anyway to smooth it out, even if it didn't look good, I could paint it. That way the CF or the clear coat doesn’t have to look perfect, it just has to be smooth. I'll try to get a couple pics when I get home. Thanks.

Do you think they will warranty the CF if it's Crack on the side? As like the issue in Veilside lips for inproper installation?

They said they would do the warranty exchange (at 50% off) no matter what happened to the lip. Be it their fault or yours. So that is pretty cool.

I did the same thing to my C-west CF lip. I mixed up some CF epoxy resin, spread it on the crack, let it dry and carefully sanded it smooth. After that it was just a matter of buffing it out with an electric buffer and some buffing compound. Does'nt look perfect but it's barely noticeable now. I also added a piece of carbon Fiber to the underside to strengthen it, seems to be holding quite well. I suppose you could use locally available fiberglass resin, it does'nt dry perfectly clear but you'll only be leaving enough to fill the crack anyway.

Good luck

Thanks for the tip. I have a friend that works at a body shop and he said he would try and see what he can do. I'll let him know what you did and we'll give it a shot. Thanks again.
